The old Man Utd Thread

Wonderful goal, with great pressing that let to us winning the ball high up. Very calmly finished by Martial too.

Think we're seeing Mourinho, just about settle on his preferred XI, finally. Pogba looks genuinely comfortable playing in a midfield pair as long he has the hard-working Herrera and Mkhitaryan surrounding him, although I suspect against better opposition we might still be better off with a genuine holding player in there. Martial is looking terrifying again. It's a balanced and fluent looking side.

Tomorrow's the big day, guys. If Liverpool fail to beat Spurs and we beat Watford we will finally, finally reach the summit and take 5th place!

Oh for fuck's sake. Spurs gonna Spurs. We don't have a league game for ages now, we'll never escape 6th!

I would love to see all the quotes dug up from the forum numpties who said he couldn't cut it in this league, prior to kicking a ball for Man U.

I'm not a Man U fan, in fact I dislike them, but I've been wanting Ibra to win it from day one. Absolutely unbelievable player, his achievements are ridiculous - no player in the world could do what he has done. His influence and importance in any given team or league is outstanding. He's only overshadowed by those two freaks playing for the Harlem globetrotters in their comfort zone.

Its funny that loads of media folk wrote him off because he "never done it against English teams in Europe" despite his numerous avhievements and they are now kissing his butt and rightly so.

Giggs and Neville may have done a lot for the club but they can fuck off with this:

Awful eyesores on the skyline, built over an important part of the city's working class heritage. And for what? Luxury apartments beyond the means of any genuine locals and a 5-star hotel.

Really good game, but a strangely unconvincing 3-0 win. United were excellent in the second half, and the St Etienne keeper made two good saves in the first, but we were very lucky with a couple of decisions, and if St Etienne could finish they would have had at least a couple of away goals. Bailly had a weird game - some good challenges and blocks, but he kept giving the ball away, and getting in the way of other players. Pogba was superb, as was Martial. Fellaini was pretty crap and seemed to unsettle Herrera, Blind got caught out of position a lot, Mata didn't do much. We created a lot of chances though, and could have scored six.

I don't know why we don't play Martial and Rashford either side of Zlatan more. When we had those two and Lingard all on at once, there was so much pace, and were able to make it difficult for St Etienne to clear their lines, then spring forward with pace coming at them from all directions.
