Be nice to see big Jaap back at OT for the Cup.

What was I thinking? The big, sideshow bob headed freak is pure class.

I reckon we should be aiming to win this competition.  It's our most likely route into the Champion's League.  Of the teams left in the competition, Spurs are the only team you'd really fear facing, and with a bit of luck they'll play their reserves or get hit by the Wembley curse again and drop out before we have to play them.

i was thinking that, there area a few teams that would be good to avoid though, logistically!  apparently this is who we could face :-

APOEL Nicosia
St Etienne
Zenit St Petersburg
Roma
Bilbao/Genk
Ajax
Shakhtar Donetsk
Schalke
Fiorentina
Sparta Prague
Osmanlispor
Lyon
Besiktas
Copenhagen

from that, wouldn't fancy zent or shaktar, good teams, and looong trips. or Roma, really...

"Lads, it's Spurs."

Fantastic result today, points gained on the three teams above us too. Important to take some momentum into a run of games against lesser opponents, all these winnable games before Liverpool.

Palace (a)

WBA (a)

Sunderland (h)

Middlesbrough (h)

West Ham (a)

Reading (h - FA Cup)

Hull (h - League Cup)

We need to score more goals.  We've scored 8 in our last 9 league games, and 3 of them came against Swansea.  I don't consider that to be an easy run of games.  West Brom away will be particularly tough, and there are a number of teams there who will sit back and make themselves difficult to break down, and we are not good at breaking defensive teams down.  We're going to be very reliant on Zlatan coming up with a goal.

Hopefully Mkhitaryan's form will continue, though.  The fact that he looks absolutely amazing at the moment does give me some hope.  One player like that can make a huge difference.  Him on the right really suits us tactically, too, as Valencia is such a threat going forward.  Mkhi goes inside, Valencia outside, and suddenly there are two big and very different problems coming at teams down our right side.  They link up well too.  So obviously one or possibly both of them will be seriously injured any day now.
