The old Man Utd Thread

Imagine Poggers, the best midfielder in the world, who's done pretty much nothing for us so far this season, needing a rest.

You couldn't make this shit up.

It's proper weird. Looking at the team selection, on paper it looks fairly formidable. What's the problem? Is the setup wrong? Are pepole playing out of position? Is Jose a spent force tactically?

i think the problem is , hes been involved in every game. but the chacnes we have made, have been on the counter...where only rashford has pace...so its basically been him on his own... this was a game for martial rasford and lingard..or even memphis! three of the quick lads up front, id still have carrick and herrera in the mid, but maybe get mata to play in mid as well. pogba wants to get the ball, and drive forward with it, thats what he is good  at, but this aint the game for that...

maybe ive been playing football manager too much...Capture.JPG ...yeah...thats it...lol

jon, basically, its a pep team, they press reallllly high. but we arent playing against that, with pep you know what you are gona get, and weve already seen how to beat it, counter with pace...we arnt doing that, and we dont have the ball long enough to build an attack...it is tactics that are wrong ...again!>

I only saw the final 20 minutes but I thought we looked fantastic - we controlled the game, looked assured in defence and a threat going forward on the break. Carrick has to be playing himself into Mourinho's first XI now.

Why is Jamie Carragher trying to make out that Mata gets criticised by United fans? He's one of the most popular players with the fans, isn't he?

From the Guardiola interview, he's delighted to be out of the competition. It's a shame to hear that Kompany is injured again. His career has been wrecked by injuries.

Slightly odd interview from Jose. He has bloodshot eyes, a thousand yard stare. He looks depressed.

Having only watched the highlights, looks like he had a litany of chances, but I would say that means he's doing something right at least. I'd suggest he was just unlucky. The chance where he should've had a tap-in at the back post was pretty bad, but it took half Burnley's team on the line and some freak goalkeeping to deny him earlier in the game.

Herrera's sending off was incredibly harsh. He has to go for that ball and he just slips. Not really sure what he could've done.

He'd already missed the most clear cut chances in the league before today. I think it's safe to assume he's not a happy bunny.

I've got no opinion on today's match as I've been out all day, but I just spent the last couple of hours in a Manchester restaurant with Fellaini. I didn't even bother going for a selfie, no matter how much my Liverpool supporting girlfriend protested. He was every bit a polite mother fucker though, as was his brother, no matter how many times I told him he wasn't a united player.
