We're getting a battering here.

 

It was a mistake to change the wide players, apparently a defensive move to force the city fullbacks inside, for some reason. They're both playing poorly, but they're not alone. Blind is having a shocker, at fault for both goals.

 

Rooney is the only one who's playing okay, and now he's looking like he's going to get sent off.

 

But as I type this - ZLATAN! Crap keeper, but great finish!

 

<hastily deletes sentence saying Zlatan's not doing anything>

Yes, it was thrilling stuff. We've done okay in the derbies over the last few seasons, but have played dreadful football and won a single trophy. If the performance in the second half is any indication, that's not going to be a concern anymore. City will gain so much confidence from the way they held on through the battering at the end though. I'd put them as favourites for the league, I don't see anyone providing any sort of competition aside from us.

Herrera was excellent in the second half, playing as a deep, ball-winning midfielder.  The second-half performance was very good.  Even when City had a lot of the ball, we looked like scoring on the break.  It's just a shame that Jose made a mess of his starting selection.

Well if you're two goals up inside half an hour, you can do that. He clearly felt that if his team continued to push up and attack, it was more likely that we would equalise than they would score a third. You're literally criticising him for doing the most sensible thing given the situation.

Think Jose got his tactics wrong first half, although i'm sure he didnt think Lingardad and miki would be as bad as they were, they didnt do anything to nullify citys full backs. Two sloppy goals conceded and it was almost game over. Amazing finish from Zlatan, and a great second half performance, we actually went for it and could have loast by a lot more or even won it great to see after the last two seasons. Best players for me were Bailly (again!! looks a great signing already), Fellaini who i thought was really good and got stuck in well and Herrera when he came on. Hurts a bit to lose to those lot but i think we will be alright this season :)

Have read that he didn't come good for Dortmund until his second season. Hope it doesn't take him that long to settle here.
