Just checking... If we get 4th and a champions league place, but then Scouse win the Europa, do we still keep our UCL place?

Now City are out of the Champions League, fourth place definitely qualifies. I don't have any faith that we can get three points at the Boleyn, but at least it's in our hands now.

So how many people have confidence that we'll beat West Ham tonight. All of the "experts" seem to believe we'll do it but for obvious reasons, I'm not so sure.

 

The overwhelming feeling I've had for every match this year is "We can win this" rather than that of the Fergie years, "We will win this." And therein has lay the problem, depending on what side of the bed the players and manager has woke up on that day dictates how we play. But even if we come out and throw everything at West Ham, that will only really guarantee an entertaining game, based on the FA Cup matches. We could roll them over or they could beat us 2-0.

 

If we beat get into the Champions League and win the FA Cup, it would be hard to begrudge LVG his final year.

Let's face it - since Rashford was introduced the play has been much better (the odd game excused), results at least feel like they've picked up and we're now on course for a top 4 finish and a Cup win. LvG should get another year to finish what he started with the young players.

LVG stumbled onto Rashford and should not get another year regardless of how this season finishes. The turgid shite on Saturday is the football he has served up all season and is what we will get next year.

we're that bad, it looks like they have an extra man! back to mataq on the right...and no lingard, so lacking some pace over there...its just slow and bleaurgh again...even with rashford and martial on the pitch

We're losing the physical battle all over the pitch. Herrera and Mata are completely irrelevant. Rashford looks overawed. Martial doesn't look fit. We are nervous in possession, unable to impose our football on the match. We're very lucky to only be one down. We've got a good spot by the linesman, and awful finishes by Payet and Carroll to thank for that. Incidentally, I've never been less worried to see a player bear down on our goal as I was when Carroll was clean through. He obviously wasn't going to score.

 

I don't know what we can do to change things. Valencia is the only guy we have who can stand up to this kind of physical challenge. Even Schneiderlin looks weak. I can't see a way back into this.

If knowing that winning this match will get them into the champions league doesn't fire them up enough to beat West Ham, then there's something seriously wrong. My money points to the management. Doesn't fill me with much confidence that we'll get the FA Cup now.

 

At least there's no way Louis will be with us next season now, so that's something to be happy about.

I don't mind us losing so much, it's shit like this that fans are fed up of. More possession but fuck all done with it. Oh well, we didn't deserve CL football and it's nearly certain that LVG's fate is sealed so next season can only get better, right?
