The old Man Utd Thread

Why is it that when we're chasing a game, and desperate for goals, LVG will always, without fail, take off a full-back and bring on another full-back?  He did it with both full-backs tonight.  The other sub was Schweinsteiger (the gut on him is alarming) which is hardly an attacking change either.

I thought Martial was good for you tonight but we looked fairly comfortable in the end and Mignolet only had the one early chance from Lingard to deal with, whereas De Gea was once again the busier of the two keepers. Definitely worthy winners over the two legs, I think all would agree.

acoording to LVG, we tried everything...really... starting with carrick and fellani instead of herrea and schinderlin, mata on the right. bringing on valencia at right back, then schinestiger...yep. tried erverything, to make it impossible much....good grief...

Its like he fucking hates Herrera. I don't know how he wronged him but he doesn't get a look in unless the squad is 'saving private ryan'

I'm hugely surprised by the lack of emotion in here these days. Have we all really become so apathetic towards what United have become? Have we all lost that fire that we used to thrive on? Have Woodward and LvG really done this to us?

I'm so disappointed at the way the club has fallen apart since Fergie's departure, with nobody seeming to give a fuck, that personally I've had enough. I keep dreaming and hoping that this is just a minor blip and things will turn around next season.

As long as it isn't fucking Mourinho.

I want José. At least he's got some fucking passion. But anyone other than the current apathetic red lump would do. I've given up on this season, and I suspect most people in here have also. It seems we're stuck with him until at least the end of the season no matter how poorly we play or how badly we lose, so what's the point? Think I'll spend those precious couple of hours every weekend doing something else just as fun, like burning my eyeballs with a tiny flame.

The season's a write-off and our football is largely terrible. Like Gabzy says, it just feels like a waste of my weekend time watching the games. I mainly just log onto the guardian, see we're losing and playing badly, shrug and get on with my life.

It's not about the winning. It's the joyless, pedestrian air around the club, around our football. Everyone is just waiting for LVG to leave so no-one gives a shit about what happens until then.

Brilliant result! We've got to make sure we don't waste it by losing a silly game, like we did against WBA after we beat Arsenal.

One strange thing about this season is that despite how dire it has been generally, there have been some huge positives. Martial is the biggest one, of course, but there's also Rashford, Lingard, Borthwick-Jackson, Forsu-Mensa, Valera, the form of Smalling, the fact that Mata is finally playing in his best position, and the fact the De Gea is still a United player at the moment.

Great goal by Rashford, by the way.
