2-1 probably flattered us in the end. Understandable that we'd concede goals given we have seven defenders either injured or not match fit, but what's harder to understand is that it was Bournemouth that stepped it up a gear in the second half, not us. I thought Martial had a good game, but the players behind him are struggling to create chances. It's baffling to see Young being frozen out too, I suppose he is not exactly the future of this club in Van Gaal's mind, but I really doubt Nick Powell is either.

Honestly, we improved a lot last season when we used the tactic of playing Young and Fellaini, and those two causing problems for teams through some pretty basic football. We've tried to move on from that and gone backwards. Miiiiiiiiiles backwards. Young's a good footballer anyway, he's a more effective performer than Lingard, much as we should be looking to the future.
