The stage is very much set for a calamitous loss tomorrow.

Tomorrow is a test, to be fair. Southampton are a good side, very organised and well-drilled, and in good form. I'm nervous about it already.

He then later corrects this to 7 passes in total since the break.

It's almost as if someone might actually know what they're doing :sherlock:

Saying that, watch us have one of those performances tonight that makes us look like a bunch of PE teachers.

Seeing as you're all being so negative in here, I feel it's time for some of my legendary optimism. I predict us winning the game by 4 goals, not only putting us up to 3rd, but also giving us better goal difference than Leicester. You can all thank me later.

AND, creating a further record of 5 games in a row won by 3+ goals! ;)

All I want for Christmas is Norwich beating Chelsea and us beating Southampton.

Come on you reds!

So, so good from Martial. We really needed that, because we've been second best.

Martial's sheer refusal to give up the ball does it again. Loving Tony at the minute. Southampton have been by far the best opposition we've played so far. Really well organised.

I reckon I'd take Pogba off at half time, not because of his performance, but to put McTominay on, so he can match Southampton's energy in the middle of the park.

That 'tackle' on Greenwood... how is that not a red? He knew exactly what he was doing.

How is that not a red card for Romeu? It's a deliberate attempt to injure him. He knew exactly what he was doing, it's obvious. It's a textbook example of how to "do" someone in a game.

That's an example of officials not understanding the game.

It's yet another example of VAR not being used to actually help the ref. What's the point..

Maybe one of those ones that looks worse in slow motion. Hard to judge the level of force. Given the ball is completely gone, probably a yellow at least. I haven't seen them use VAR to give those very often though.
