For all you PS3 (and probably 360) UK Rock Band 2 buyers beware, your 20 free songs are NOT those initially listed by Harmonix. We are instead getting a different set of titles. The list in full is:

The full list is as follows:

18."Why Do You Love Me" - Garbage

19."You've Got Another Thing Comin'" - Judas Priest

20."Zero" - Smashing Pumpkins

This replaces this list:

"Sons and Daughters" by The 88

"No Regrets" by Authority Zero

"Prequel To The Sequel" by Between the Buried and Me

"Bounce" by The Cab

"Get It On" by The Chevelles

"Give It To Me" by The Cocktail Slippers

"Database Corrupted" by Dealership

"I Wanna Be Your Man" by Endeverafter

"The Time Is Wrong" by Tickle Me Pink

"Desperate Times, Desperate Measures" by Underoath

"I.V." by X Japan

So far no word why or if any of these will be available for download to EU owners in the future. There is a thread on the rock band forums and I can confirm that there are songs in my UK version that I never downloaded from the UK store (I did download them from the US store hence why I can tell the difference).

Maybe this is PS3 only? I bought the PAL version of Rock Band 2 on 360 when it came out, and I definitely got the latter set of songs when I entered the download code on Live.

Not saying it hasn't changed now like...

Nobody picked up Ten yet? Downloaded it last night but didn't get a chance to have a go. Can't wait to play Jeremy.

I would have done if the UK PSN had actually put the full album up. Instead its just the singles, well played there Sony..

Can you not buy it through the in-game store? Not like I know whether or not it's there...

I've actually got a feeling Sony Europe don't know what they're doing with the Rock Band DLC. A guy at Harmonix had no idea about the 'free 20 songs' being the second volume of the disc pack, so it must have been an error on Sony's behalf.

I am now in possession of drums guitar and game for both PS3 and 360. Which do I keep?

If I were in your position and knowing a little bit about how your using the machines I'd get the 360 version and sell off your PS3, I dont really think you used it for much else bar rockband really.

Nope tried the store as well and its just the singles. I think your right in the respect that Sony PSN staff dont know what there doing but quite honestly I feel that can be applied to the store. I dont think anyone actually questions it, they just get the files and process. Hence the Silent Hill issue, hence the SSF2HD debacle for europe and the at points haphazard approach to rock band DLC. I wont say anymore on that though as this is not the thread, I just want my pearl jam

Any ideas if RB1 and RB2 are compatible for 2 player online? I'm guessing not, but if so perhaps you could add me also, I have RB2 on PS3 and have no friends :)

Consider it done. I'll be online tonight hitting the drums hard.

Cheers. Actually I forgot, I do actually own RB1, I just have never actually played it (picked it up cheap off Ebay and ripped the songs after I bought RB2).

It's true, but I now have quite a few blu-rays. Unless I get really desperate I won't be selling it. I dunno if anyone would want my US kit though, I definitely couldn't sell it to Gamestation or anywhere like that.

But would it be cheaper to sell and buy a dedicated Blu Ray player instead?

After a couple of beers on Saturday I decided to try my hand (vocal cords) at the one song that always gives me trouble when it crops up in setlists, with the hope of being able to nail it in the 85%+ range consistently. Spoonman.

My second try yielded a 94% on expert vocals, which I think could go a little higher if it weren't for those multi-track moments where you have to leap between the 'they beat the rhythm with their bones' and 'spoon man' parts without a breath. I'm pretty sure I can eke an extra percent or two out of it overall, but that fateful second try saw me getting a bit too into things and the 'come on while I get off... come on while I get off.... come on WHILE I GET OOOOOOFFFFFFF!' section left a bloody taste in my throat that meant I approached the ending with a bit more caution than I would have done otherwise.

Are there any trained vocalists out there who can advise on the best method for adding "scratch" to your vocal without either a ) losing the note or b ) hurting your throat? I can do both but not reliably and some of Chris Cornell's stuff is pushing my range as it is without the difficulty of adding the extra texture to it. I realise there are 'death growl' tutorials out there but that sort of cookie-monster thing comes quite easily to me - it's pushing my voice into the higher ranges that it's usually quite comfortable (without the added edge) in without damaging it that's proving to be the problem.

I have the utmost admiration for full-time professional singers at the moment. Taking care of your voice while singing rock songs every evening must be a damn nightmare.

Also: I have no idea what happened to that indie pack. Someone posted it as a future Battle-of-the-Bands for last week on the official Rock Band site (not the forums) and then it got pulled, presumably as it was put up by mistake. Or so one assumes.
