Rock Band!

I have to admit having played most, but not all, of my grateful dead stuff last night and this morning it is quite possibly some of the best designed note tracks they have ever made. Really like the way and feel of the hand movements and they way it translates to the sounds being created.

Next week's DLC announcement from Harmonix -

"Here's the DLC announcement arriving on the week of 2/3. We're busting out a 3 pack of Thin Lizzy anthems from their new live cd, and backing that up with classic singles from The Pretenders and Pat Benatar, as well as two tracks from Nikko!

Here's the full scoop:

Thin Lizzy - Boys Are Back In Town (Live)

Thin Lizzy - Cowboy Song (Live)

Thin Lizzy - Jailbreak (Live)

The Pretenders - Precious

Pat Benatar - Hit Me With Your Best Shot

Nikko - Break My Heart

Nikko - Don't Tell Me

All tracks are original master recordings."

I'll definitely be picking up the Thin Lizzy and Pat Benatar tracks.

Hey gang!

Here's the DLC announcement arriving on the week of 2/3. We're busting out a 3 pack of Thin Lizzy anthems from their new live cd, and backing that up with classic singles from The Pretenders and Pat Benatar, as well as two tracks from Nikko!

Thin Lizzy - Jailbreak (Live)

The Pretenders - Precious

Pat Benatar - Hit Me With Your Best Shot

Nikko - Break My Heart

Nikko - Don't Tell Me

All tracks are original master recordings.

These tracks will be $1.99 (160 Microsoft Points) a piece, or $5.49 (440 Microsoft Points) for the Thin Lizzy 3 pack, with the exception of the Nikko tracks which will run $0.99 (80 Microsoft Points) each.

You can find these songs in the Xbox Live Marketplace on Tues Feb 3rd, and in the Playstation Store on Thurs Feb 5th.

I'll probably grab the Thin Lizzy pack, depending on how good the live versions are.

So yeah, I'd just purchased a few songs, just got all my songs over from Rock Band into Rock Band 2, was having a good bash on Wont Get Foolded Again when I hear a slight crack. Just my imagination I thought so I plowed on and then bam! The whole bloody thing is hanging by a tiny bit of plastic (which eventually broke too!). I've got no money to buy new drums and whats worse is my friends smelly GH:WT drums are in my living room but they are for PS3 and my Rock Band is 360! It sits there mocking me with its uninspired tracklist and unsatisfying note charts...WOE!!

I would've loved playing those snazzy Thin Lizzy tracks too

Where can I buy a copy of RB2 the game to ship to Australia?

Girlfriend is obsessed with the first one as it only came out here a few months ago :)

Couldn't you get the UK version off Amazon?

Not sure if the RB1 tracks ripping would work or if the region coding is the same (I would assume it is), but it would allow you to get the game 'early'.

Was just knocking around town picking up Banjo Kazooie(wooh!) and noticed that Rock Band 1 is still full priced in a lot of places! It was 50 pound in Zavvi! Fifty pound! That's fairly ridiculous, surely EA should've dropped the price by now?

couple of bits of wood and some araldite. make a nice ghetto fix.

just make sure you haven't snapped any wires or you'll need a soldering iron as well.

you have nothing to lose....

Bought Rock Band Wii today (would have bought 2, but it's not out here in Spain - but the instrument pack was €20 cheaper than before Xmas!). It is wonderful. My flatmates had a riot, even the one who doesn't play games at all. She was going mental on the drums.

Couldn't get the mic working in 3-player though. I think I've got USB things plugged in in the wrong place, though, or it's something to do with the remote. Does the remote act as the mic controller? Is that how to do it right? I'll have another look tomorrow.

You can't buy the Box-in-a-Band anywhere round here.

I may as well wait for the new instruments, but there's no bloody details about them as far as I'm aware.

Could get GH:WT in Asda for £130 including the game, but I'd rather stick with the tried and tested Rockband instruments.

It'd be even better if they sent a replacement that wasn't gonna break as well.

Why must you destroy my dreams.

I think theres a metal plate of some sort that you can get for the pedal, dunno if it's worth investing in?

I reached a grand total of 5 broken pedals before I ordered a replacement wooden pedal top from ebay for about £20. Easy to install, very comfortable on the foot and certainly isn't gonna break. Wish I'd invested a long time before I did.

This is driving me mad, too. I simply don't have room for the drum kit, but I'm desperate for my plastic guitar fix... I haven't been able to play since GH2 on PS2, and I think I'm having withdrawal symptoms. Standalone RB2 instruments, come on!

Another one for the "driving me mad" club here. My drum kit is on its last legs and I'm not going to buy another crappy RB1 kit. As soon as they release the RB2 drums, I'll be upgrading, but until then, no drumming for me.

I'm sore all over today after completing the endless setlist 2 on hard drums yesterday. That's easily 1 of the worst ideas I've ever had, I wouldn't recommend it. :) The last hour or more was a lesson in torture.

Good effort, son. When I do it, I'll take the easy way out and just do it on expert guitar.
