£1 on England to win 2-0 with Rooney scoring the first goal @ 15/1.

On the off chance anyone was planning the same bet, you can now safely disregard it, I've not won _anything_ all tournament.

edit: Just spotted 23/1 for England to be winning first half, draw the second, so that's another £1 down.

My brother had 2 quid on forlan to score first and uraguay to win 3-0 (75-1), next day he had a tenner on greece 2-1, lucky little bugger!

Ive got a tenner on <2.5 goals and <4 cards and <10 corners in the england game.

England's quite frankly shocking lack of form has netted me £45 from Betfair so far. I also managed to squeeze in a lay bet on England to qualify from the group at a ridiculously generous 1.12 before things really went south, so that is potentially £115 more profit right there.

They are still offering a staggering 8.2 for a Slovenia win and 4.3 for the draw as I type this and at this point it feels like they are giving out free money, cake and hookers.

So England to win 5 - 0 then...

£5 on England, Germany and USA tomorrow at 10/3 which seems generous.

I had the same bet :(

After Germany and USA failed I decided to lump my remaining monies on England to win...

Had a prob with Betfair, but they gave me my money back as a gesture of goodwill.

Absolutely daunting and mental site to use.

Also, laybetting? It'll be way too risky for me to do, but I've always wondered how it works. It's betting for something NOT to happen right? Just their were odds on to lay Japan 1-0 down at 900/1 if not more.

So just for arguments sake, say you stuck £2 on, i'm assuming its the difference between a matched bet and a lay, and not £1800 :) (So more like a tenner, if you're lucky)

Betfair is great (and they use decimal odds, which are much, much better). I really like the site. And their customer service is cracking.

With a lay bet, you're essentially the bookie. It's really, really simple, but I couldn't grasp it at first (or the way it works anyway) for some reason. But yeah, it's the liability you consider when you're doing it. Really unlikely outcomes will have stupidly high odds. So you could put a £10 on a lay bet with odds of 100, meaning as long as it didn't happen, you would get that £10. But if it did happen, you'd be liable for £1000.

Those of you that put on the £25 risk-free bet on betfair yesterday: have you been given your stake back?

Not yet. I'm sure the last time I lost a free bet it took 48 hours to return to my account.

New customers only.

There was nothing to suggest that. It allowed me to click it, and presented me with a number of bets for England v Algeria. Betfair will be giving me that £25 back.

WRONGFAX

No no. I am right. Decimal odds are much better, much more logical, and much clearer.
