Great video, Dood, I really like how you show the mistakes leading up to the the attempt when you succeed, which sums up how we're all playing. That last jump though....every time I play I try to get over that barrier but haven't succeeded yet. Nice to see that it actually can be done, so I'll keep trying.

i seem to be a bit stuck. ive done everytjing there is to do except 3 skateboard mag vids and 4 thrasher mag vids. there is nothing else unlocked for me to do. do i have to finish all these vids to move on? I hope not cos they are all really fucking hard and frustrating. Is there something i'm missing?

Yeah you do from what I remember. You unlock the X Games after beating one mag and get the Mega Park for doing both.

Are these the video challenges that are like get 4 grinds, 6 seconds of air and 4000 points+ ? I used the rec centre for those. Theres some grinds right along the fence to the half pipe. Hit those grinds then duck in the gap in the wall to the halfpipe then throw in some quick christ airs and big grabs making sure to spin alot.

For the solely big air ones or just a single huge score use the Plan B warehouse half pipe or a nice pool. Get the multiplier up and you can hit 5000+ points in only a few big air tricks.

Thanks for the invite last night, but I was just in the process of switching off.

Found another Own the Spot place last night - think it's called Hellavator (or something like that) but I'm buggered if I know what to do. It says I need to beat 1,001 points and I'm sure I did this in 1 trick by jumping from the top ledge down. Must have spent half an hour on this spot alone last night.

I'm positive that I got 1200 points on one attempt (and landed it) but I didn't get to own the spot. I wasn't sure whether you had to do the trick over one of the larger sections at the end rather than just jump down the middle.

I'm at a concert tonight so won't get to give it a go, but will try again tomorrow.

Has anyone jumped over the barrier fence on the top of the multi-storey car-park?

Was tyring for ages the other night, but I reckon it's impossible. However, one level down from the top there is a ledge you can get on that leads to a hole in the fence which enables you to drop down from the carpark to the road, but is very awkward and doesn't enable for any trick potential...

yeah, you have to either jump over the big ledge on the right hand side of the bridge or grind/manual down it, jumping off the middle doesn't count.

You know you're really enjoying a game when you spend all day waiting to play it! Played a small bit last night with Meerman. It is a real pity that you can't just skate around the whole city, but it's still a good laugh.

S.K.A.T.E. is good fun but a bit drawn out. The racing is good fun too but from our brief experience I reckon that Own the Spot might be the best "trick" mode. Each person gets three turns to outscore each other on a set obstacle. Of course I kicked Meer's ass on the big ramps :)

Apologies to Alan Attack for not sending an invite. Only the host can invite for some reason and Meerman didn't have you on his friends list.

Some further investigation into other game types is required.

No worries man, you initially messaged me when I was in a "finally sat down to play some single player-no interuptions please" mode.... and then I went and took an hour instead of the half an hour.

so once i've done these final few mag videos is that it for all the challenges? as in, its just the X games left and i'm done?

I actually hope it is cos i want all that out of the way so I can concentrate on free skate. Of course I could just free skate anywhere now, but knowing theres challenges there I always just seem to get drawn in. Those last few vids are a bitch though.

is the rec area the bit where you start the game, from the demo?

Yeah the Community centre where you start the game. Sorry was late last night.

The grinds are right next to the fence by the half pipe. Theres a metal grind then two boxes. You can get two grinds or more on the metal grind if you flip and land back onto what your grinding.. Then try and hit the two boxes with decent speed so you do them all in one go flipping over the gap in the middle. You can get the grind distance which is 14m on these too. They will get your multiplier going for the half pipe section as well.

What's everyone listening to custom soundtrack wise? A few years back Esar and Das Tapen did an awesome RLLMUK themed hip hop mixtape for the st the time amazing monthly hip hop thread. It works perfectly with this. Nice old school flows. I'm sure he can do you a copy, if not I can. Skates awesome.

It says my Gamertag is already linked to a EA Classic screenname, but I don't know the password for that, and I do the forgot password thing but nothing came to my current hotmail account. I must say EAs whole online system seems awful. Why they must insist on doing it all themselves instead of letting it all go through Xbox Live?

It's the one thing that I don't like about this game. I've tried it so many times but I never get the confirmation email :unsure::(:D Any point in emailing EA?
