IT'S HERE - completely unexpected too, as the rubbish parcel tracking service said it was still in Germany.

The EF-S 17-55mm f/1.8 IS USM seems to be in great shape, it's clean and I don't see any dust or scratches and the AF and IS seem to work great :) The previous owner liked his ciggies though, the bag it came in smelt like ashtray.

/edit/ Fuck me, this thing is SHARP

How's the IS and also what's the Bokeh/sharpness like @ F2.8 ?

I really wish people would stop posting up about stonking lenses. Given the cost of a second hand one I'm thinking it might be a perfect indoor / wedding lens for a crop body.

Haven't got any great bokeh pictures yet, so this one'll have to do. There are plenty of sample pictures on review sites though.

(Yeah, I admit it's a bit rubbish - it's an indoor in-the-shade f/2.8 picture at 55mm with IS on, no flash)

The sharpness on 2.8 is good, IS is good too. Most reviews say that this is the best general purpose lens for crop bodies, the only complaints are its price and size/weight. Indeed a popular wedding lens, especially where the photographer uses a fullframe with a 24-70L or 24-105L, and this one on a crop as backup.

But don't take my word for it, this is an excellent review: http://www.the-digital-picture.com/reviews/canon-ef-s-17-55mm-f-2.8-is-usm-lens-review.aspx

Or this one, it's a bit more technical: http://www.photozone.de/canon-eos/178-canon-ef-s-17-55mm-f28-usm-is-test-report--review

I notice 'Miss Aniela' has a book out on self portraiture now.

Presumably it's two pages long. Page one reads 'have tits' and page two reads 'put them on the internet'.

In fairness, they are great tits. Er, in an artistic way, obviously.

Photoshop (CS5) question: I took some photos today and one has a bird in the blue sky what I want to get rid of and another has a blob of light on concrete that I want to remove.. what do I use in Photoshop to do this? Either an explanation or tell me what to google is fine, I just don't know what I'm looking for.

Thanks folks <3
