As the title suggests I'm looking for names to join a rally around the island. There will be no prize and I'm looking at this more as a cruise than a race. So get in your best shorts and cowboy boots combo and put your name down. Details of the race are being put together and will be posted when finalised. Hoping to have it some night this week and possibly even tonight, if we get enough interest. With any luck it will become a regular fixture using different classes, routes etc....

Cannonballers

WickedKitten - kitspec

Saint M - SaintM

Sean R - EatingSeanR

Robbo - Robbidoo

Hobo - hoboagogo

Gary C - GaryClaret

Vamecum - havchr

Bunta - Bunta ae86

I think 8 is the max we can have in one race. If we get more we can see how it goes.

We're going to try 9pm tonight. Add some of the above to your friends list and then meet at the US Muscle Dealership.

To find people on the map and thus appear on the same server use the player filter and set it to friends. then warp to one of the red blobs on your map.

Euro Classic (South) > US Muscle - 9.2 miles

Rules

For this first rally I must insist on using a G class car (tuned or untuned)

I would expect the whole race to take between 90 minutes - 2 hours.

Where possible people should try to use the coast road as the GPS may lead them a quicker route between stages.

If people could start posting times when they will be available that would help a lot in getting a concrete time and date set.

Post gamertags too please.

n00b question but how do I make sure I'm on the right server?

Go to the map, Use the shoulder buttons to show players (loads of red cars on the map) then press the blue button to bring up the filter. Change the option at the bottom from All players to Friends and then warp to them. It sometimes takes a couple of gos but you should find us fairly easily.

Could people also make sure they have downloaded the free cars so there no problems with people using DLC cars.

So how do we set up the route? Do it a garage at a time, stopping in between, or do we recalculate ourselves when we get there?

i really don't know the island well enough to 'stick to the coast road', can't we just use the GPS?

We'll figure that out when we start.

I think we should stop at each stage to allow people(me) to catch up.

Room for one more?

GT: Bunta ae86

The more the merrier.

I've tried a test run and have come to the following :

At each stage we all meet up in the car park of the dealership. Everyone then sets a GPS waypoint on their maps. (Following the GPS route keeps us as close to the coast as we need to be. Then we just follow the route given or improvise if you're feeling like it. It should provide a decent variety of roads. If you are worried about losing the others you shouldn't. It will be fairly easy to find one another and I imagine we will be more like a convoy than a race.

So add some of the names in the first post and meet us at 9pm at the US Muscle garage . :)
