Everyone knows that the proper Ghosbusters 3 was the game from 2009.

I love this game. I also really enjoyed the movie reboot. I think the effects were very in-keeping with the original and Kate M was hilarious throughout. But hey, opinions, eh?

I thought this guy's analysis was really good, possibly better than RLM Mikes overall.

He also goes into how you could just edit the (terrible) material there and make it funnier, without changing anything else.

He does a good job of laying out how it is a wildly different kind of comedy on display.

I thought that the extended cut had replaced the original across home media but E4 showing the theatrical cut with the bad editing and worse alternate takes right now? It’s not a TV censorship thing, they used an alternate take which added “fuck”.

Edit - No, wait, this is the longer cut.

In honor of the planned Feb. 1 home release of Ghostbusters: Afterlife, the studio is releasing an eight-disc Ghostbusters Ultimate Collection to Blu-ray and 4K Ultra HD on the same day. Included in the gift set are 1984’s Ghostbusters and 1989’s Ghostbusters II, along with director Jason Reitman’s 2021 film, which was a direct sequel to the initial classic.

Notably absent is the Feig-directed film that starred Melissa McCarthy, Kristen Wiig, Kate McKinnon, Leslie Jones and Chris Hemsworth.

I quite liked the 2016 movie but real fans didn't. Neither did Dan Ackroyd.

In 2017, Aykroyd discussed the film on British talk show Sunday Brunch, saying that Feig “will not be back on the Sony lot anytime soon.” According to the actor, Feig “spent too much on it, and he didn’t shoot scenes we suggested to him.”

Aykroyd later clarified his comments by posting to Facebook that he enjoyed the 2016 film but wished Feig “had been more inclusive to the originators.”
