"Your PlayStation 3 is coming!"

You're comparing a 60GB HDD to a 20GB HDD, as though there's no point in having less than 60GB of storage space. Likewise I'm comparing the Xbox's HDD to my lorry-load of PS2 memory cards, as though there's no point in having less than 8GB of storage space. Do you see what I'm getting at?

Your comparison is ridiculous where as mines is fair. You're comparing two different things where as I'm comparing two similar things.

I'm going to end this now before NapoLeo0n whinges again.

It's not the comparison I'm interested in, it's the underlying assumption that you simply must have 60GB of storage space on a 360 for it to be comparable to a PS3 - that unless you construct a 360 package from off-the-shelf accessories and make it identical to the PS3 in every way (qualitative and quantitative), it's not comparable. This is utter nonsense.

It's not a reasonable comparison. For example:

Xbox (at launch):

Console: £300

8GB save space (Inc.)

Built-in ethernet adaptor (Inc.)

4 controller ports (Inc.)

£300

PS2 (at Xbox launch):

Console: £200

8GB of memory cards: £30,000

Ethernet adaptor: £30

Multi-tap: £30

£30,260

So the PS2 represented really really shitty value for money. Do you see?

Genuine LOL. :D

what worries me the most is that we're now going on 3 months that the system has been out and there are still less than 6 titles for it available here in the states that are even worth looking at (with all except resistance: falling being either a franchise sequel or available on another platform).

and looking down the pike, it's not much better. according to gamefaqs, has less than dozen titles are currently scheduled to drop this year. I hate to play the role of sony "hater", but they're planning and launch have been nothing short of craptacular in my opinion.

the uk and the rest of europe will probably fall the same way that japan and the states did. systems will sell to the "hardcore" and those "early adopters" looking for a blu-ray player, but then sharply fall off afterwards (unless sony does something spectacular to change this, like bundling in a nintendo wii system for free! :D).

Why are people excited by emails from shops allowing them to spend 5 hundred pounds on a product they will sell? PS3's are readily available for the same price on the internet. Does a PAL badge really mean that much to anyone?

I find this quite weird, i don't have any excitement towards this none-prestigious launch event. Especially compared to getting my Wii, which was a rollercoaster day of anticipation, worry and delight.

This is definitely the worst post I've read today.

It'd be nice if future editions of forums or web browsers could administer electric shocks if someone tries to post such rubbishy non posts.

Then again, I'd be dead. A worthwhile sacrifice I think.

Oh, why is that the case? The original poster seems excited about an email from a shop inviting him to spend a large amount of money. It's nice for the chap to be excited, as i previously commented, but it's not as if the shop is doing him a huge favour. No doubt when he turns up on the day he will be either encouraged or forced to take an extravagant bundle deal.

Maybe it was my lack of pre-order, but i was very excited when i managed to secure my Wii on the day. All the other people in the shop were all excited too (with their sub 200 pound purchases). I suspect the PS3 launch may not have such excitement in the air, with only the richest folk in the area and ebay buyers purchasing their machines in a more subdued atmosphere.

But anyway, i'm certainly not discouraging the original poster from being excited if he wants to. There's not enough of it around in videogaming. Also after doing a quick search through your latest posts Sir Stiff One, you seem to just say inflammatory things to random people, so i won't take any real offence from your comments.

From Play.com:

We are thrilled to confirm that Play.com will supply your pre-ordered Sony PlayStation 3 Console with 60GB HDD & 3 Games at launch

Result! :) (For me anyway)

Top quality reading work, there.
