Strange goings on with my (one and only) trophy. Last night I won the 'Close Encounters' trophy (don't die for 45 secs without using boost or weapons) in SSHD... now it's suddenly turned into the 'Tokeniser' trophy (collect five tokens with a single boost). Very strange. Happen to anyone else?

Not sure what Sony are playing at. They should at least post a message on the information board apologising for the problems this update is causing and perhaps a mention of when a fix will be available. Its seeming to be quite common afterall.

I should have got the 'Well Prepared - Get 20 bombs in Arcade', as I was saved up enough bombs for it, but it didn't register. Very odd.

The best thing about 2.4 isn't the in-game XMB, which I doubt I'll ever use much, it's that it's made me go back to playing SSHD again. In a couple of hours last night, I cleared Arcade mode for the first time, and won 8 trophies. I was moments away from getting the 10x multiplier one, but then in my excitement, died. That's going to be a bitch to do again, as it took me ages to get up to 9x.

Have they said if they'll be a delay between a demo showing up on Qore and then just on the regular store? A bit like the two week Gold / Silver thing with XBL.

Played a few rounds of SSHD last night and bagged three achievements, it's really rather good. I had written it off as just another Geometry Wars wannabe but in reality it plays very differently and I particularly like how you can boost through enemies or away from them if the shit is about to hit the fan. Good stuff. Slightly annoyed that some of the trophies require you to download the DLC (the sales for the game must already have had a massive spike) but I seem to recall people saying good things about so I guess I would have probably bought it anyway.

Yes, non Qore people will get this demo in two weeks, but I think it's shocking we don't get ANY demo. If we got something and Naruto was locked off for two weeks, that would be OK. But not getting anything is not cool, in my book.

Scouser : A lot of people downloaded 2.4 but it was retracted because a small group of people are having problems with it. You don't need a US console to get US demos, just make a new account on your machine that says you live with Shannon Doherty in good old 90210 and you'll be able to download US demos and files, of which they hae plenty of. Same goes for downloading stuff from the JPN store, you just need an address.

What's going on with the software upgrade? Heard about 2.4 yesterday, tried to upgrade and it's saying I have the latest version (2.36).

I've noticed some people saying about getting US demos and stuff. How's that done, then? Would I need a US console?

1. 2.4 was pulled as it humped a couple of peoples PS3s.

2. You can set up a US account easily. Guides about the internets for it.

Yep just as i thought would happen, they said it wouldnt effect normal psn but there you go. ;)

IIRC did'nt they also say both before the PS3 launched & again just before the the PSN Interface was revamped that the US wasn't going to get Demo's & stuff before the UK?

I've got a BT Homehub and the PS3 is connected wirelessly. However the PS3 keeps dropping the connection after several minutes and I'm not sure why. If I use a cable its fine and I have several other devices wirelessly without issue, just the PS3. Anyone else have this issue?

Yep. I'm not with BT but I've always found the PS3 to be flakey. Seems to have got worse recently. I gave up on MGO last night when I got dumped from two games in succession.

Its only on wireless that I'm having issues ;) I can get round it by switching the cable from the back of the 360 to the PS3 but I'd rather not as its a pain in the ass climbing behind the TV stand each time. The PS3 is sat right next to the Homehub so its not like theres anything interferring.

What the hell is Qore? And why is there no U after that Q? Makes my brain hurt when I read it.

An online, paid-for magazine (either by subscription or 'per episode) which features demos and editorial written by the US OPS3 Magazine guys. Features exclusive demos which - unless you subscribe or pay or each episode, won't get till later.

The Homehub is slightly dodgy I've found. I always lose the connection when a call is made and every so often it just refuses to let the internet work.

Eurogamer have posted this about Siren. It actually sound like a downloadable game well done.

Sony Europe has told Eurogamer that Siren: Blood curse will be released on 24th July.

This is the episodic PS3 reinterpretation of the scary PS2 original. It will be broken up into four downloadable chapters on the PlayStation Store.

Each chapter has four episodes in it and will cost GBP 4.99. Or you can snaffle up the whole lot in a full game download for GBP 19.99.

We had a chance to tip-toe our way through the first chapter recently, and were very impressed to find it immediately much more playable than any of the previous games.

Add vastly improved voice acting, atmosphere, audio and sumptuous visuals to that and you should be as excited as we are.

Check back soon for our in-depth look at the entire four chapters.

Well, pay for Qore, get demos now, don't pay for Qore, get them in two weeks. So it's similar.

Of course. But it's not a big deal is it? ;) It's just like a 'real' (paper) magazine getting an exclusive demo.

I think I've identified the problem

I've got a BT Homehub

I was so happy when I got rid of BT. Surely the people who came up with the Homehub kit deserve a ticket straight to hell. It's atrocious and for me would frequently drop connections or only allow certain devices to connect even though everything was fine before. I never found a solution apart from changing provider.
