A thread for PS3 owners Here

Hello Goaty ♥

I'm one trophy away from levelling up! (I think) I'll probably never get the extra trophies that don't involve picking up SSHD extra content pack (collect 15 powerups in a single boost? A TEN times multiplier? What?)

Regarding updating games; when I first downloaded SSHD it was 190MB. Yesterday's update was 250ish. Is it redownloading the whole shebang or something?

Pinched from Joystiq:

Sony broke out its short list of Trophy system inductees today. Not surprisingly, the first confirmed titles to gain Trophy support are all first-party games. What kinda coup is this?

* BUZZ! Quiz TV

* LittleBigPlanet

* MotorStorm Pacific Rift

* NBA 09

* PAIN**

* PixelJunk Eden

* Resistance 2

* SOCOM: Confrontation

* Super Stardust HD**

* Warhawk**

** Requires game update to install Trophies. (And requires you to play again to unlock them.)

I've got a way of liking the Euro store. Whenever things like Echochrome come out, they look like they're probably going to be really interesting and good. Then, when they're released overseas the first wave of reactions is usually the excitement and it all seems brilliant. "So getting that!" we think. Theeeeeennn, a few weeks later or more, the novelty fades and the problems start to show up. Oh, it's not all that amazing after all. And then! Finally! It's available here, except I've successfully lost interest and saved money. Thanks, Euro Store!

That one's real easy, actually. Just wait till you can get the big green bonus asteroid and boost right in its center. Stage 2's a good one to do it, as the asteroid appears fairly quickly at the beginning of level so it's not too long to try again if you miss it.

FUCKING EURO STORE

Oh, there's an Echochrome theme, but where's the fucking game?

anticipating this MAJOR DISAPPOINTMENT, I pre-ordered the euro-PSP version; it shipped today - should be here on friday :wacko:

Why did I not think of this? Cheers dude.

I'm pretty sure that I heard that Echochrome wasn't going to be a digital distribution in Europe. Blu-Rays and UMDs only.

My DS3 arrived today! DS3+triggers = :unsure:

I was also lucky enough to download 2.40 before sonylol cancelled it, so my PS3 experience has never been better. THIS IS LIVING. (all I need now is Home)

Edit: now that I have my DS3 and I've finished MGS4, I decided to give MGO a try. First thing it does is download a huge patch... omg flashbacks to the horrendous beta! I really hope I can remember my game id/log-in id from the beta or else I'll have to go through that again. This is living.

What?!

Why the fuck would it be on blu ray- the game is probably 300 megs at most. That's nuts.

Right.

Downloaded the update yesterday. My PS3 no longer recognises audio cd's and sometimes doesn't boot up. If I eject the audio cd (manually) then put a game in (MGS4 for instance) it no longer recognises that either. Same goes for USB memory sticks. Putting in an audio cd seems to absolutely cripple the PS3 with 2.40. Everything works fine as long as you don't put in an audio cd - try it out for yourselves.

I'm tempted but I don't want to hurt it.

I updated mine to 2.40 yesterday morning and it just played The Black Album fine.

yeah but this time the patch takes less then five minutes, as oppossed to 5 days. I managed to forget my pass (or didn't change it to something I'd remember), so had to go back to the Konami id site and was reminded at how utterly shit it was (what the fuck do you mean my password has to be all numbers!)

I found this on the UK playstation website:

SCEUK actually update their website? I'm fucking gobsmacked. They can barely update their store each week

You're right, I was afraid I would take all night but it was done in less than 5 minutes, like you say. And I also remembered my id and my password, so thankfully I didn't have to go through all that again!

Oh and I also just tried an audio cd - no problems at all. 2.4 has worked perfectly for me so far :unsure:

I seem to be having problems with Everybodys Golf. Everything but the online side works and all I get is a black screen when I tried to go online with it. Music plays but nothing. I can open the XMB and even leave the game. Im thinking this is 2.4 related?

Exactly what I got yesterday.

Turns out it was downloading an update. It kept failing (and only 2 out of 9 goes did it actually show the progress bar) but basically press O and you'll exit to the main menu to try again. I did eventually get it to work though.

Frikkin monkeys. Fancy not saying anything on screen. I've just gone and deleted it to start a new install :unsure:

My SSHD is broken.

It gets an error message as it boots up, then plays fine but, to my horror, it's not saving properly. So my new high score hasn't been saved and none of my planets aren't unlocked. The trophies are not affected.

I think the save file might be borked. So not only have I had to play through it for trophies, I've now got absolutely f**k all unlocked and my high score is the one I had prior to the firmware update.

F'ing shambles.
