.. and probably some more I forgot about. So say if they average £35 each that's close to £500 and there are always sleepers that come out from nowhere and rock. And that's ignoring PSP. I haven't bought a PSP game since I got a PSP yet Patapon, Crisis Core and God of War are all pre-ordered.

Patapon shipped today actually, woo.

Xbox Marketplace feels horrible to me after using the PSN store.

Horses for courses I suppose, I hate the layout of PSN, much prefer the integrated nature of the Marketplace. So I'll be interested to see what they do with the revamp. (Although I'd be much more excited about them putting up demos for all PSN games).

Christ, are you one of them annoying guys at work where when someone says "I'm starving!" they challenge how you can actually be starving and must therefore simply just be a bit hungry.

You need a 2.5" internal hdd. They're easy to fit, Google it and you find guides.

Haze, GTA4, MGS4, Little Big Planet, Wipeout HD, Vegas 2, Everybody's Golf, Rock Band, Army of Two, Fallout 3, Prototype, Valkyria Chronicles, Bionic Commando, Alone in the Dark, Final Fantasy 13, Motorstorm 2, Saints Row 2, Resident Evil 5, and Resistance 2

and those are only the ones I'm interested in getting personally

Why not? I just said 2008 was gonna be an expensive year for me. Take them out if this is some kind of test. I'm not quite sure what your point is.

Rock Band and Everybody's Golf aren't out in the UK yet. And Motorstorm 2 is meant to be out in time for Christmas, yeah.

Motorstorm 2 is due out in time for Christmas and moves the action away from the desert locale of the original. Gamers will be able to race around a lush island environment, full of interactive vegetation.

The game will feature four-player split-screen action, righting one of the obvious failings of the first game.

The title is some months away from completion but the game's engine looked rock solid and the graphics were as impressive as one would expect from one of the best-looking racing franchises.

I'll be very surprised if we see either of those this year, but yeah, other than that it's a good lineup.

I never got into Motorstorm, mainly cos of the stupid load times. I'm sure with everything fixed, and everything a racing game should have, it'll be awesome.

The load times are almost a killer, I can see that. Once you're in though it's the best Arcade racer in ages.

Therev as got me interested in obtaining the demo for MLB 08: The Show now.

Here's something I wrote about this game and the PSP version elsewhere -

Anyway, it's really great. Looks lovely, with players who are instantly recognisable. After leaving the controller for a while the game cut away to show what was happening on various areas of the field and I saw Lowell and Lugo having a chat. No names on the uniforms, but it was obviously them. I just love having good presentation in a baseball game, makes it all seem more real.

(Thinking about it, baseball games are about the only games that I really want to be "sims". I'm happy with arcade driving, football, etc., but I love my baseball games to feel real. Huh.)

The pitching controls are great, with tactics and button-pressing skills being needed in equal measure. Hitting's very nice, with a lovely little pop-up telling you if you were early or late on your last swing. Really helps get the timing down. Even fielding, which is normally the most rubbish bit of baseball games, has felt fine. I certainly haven't been running around and around balls and not being able to pick them up as I do in MLB 2K7.

I was going to wait and see what MLB 2K8 was like before placing a pre-order - the 2K series being the only competitor to the The Show games - but I've been having so much fun with the demo of The Show that I've gone and ordered it from Tronix. (The only thing I think I'll miss that's in 2K8 and not The Show are the real minor league stadiums, but I think they're going to be downloads that cost actual money, so fuck 'em.)

The PSP version of The Show seems good, too, but I've not played that demo much. I've spent hours back with the full 07 version of the PSP game over the last few days, though. I'm playing Road to the Show mode, which is a single-player career. I'm a second baseman in the Braves organisation and after a month in the minor leagues got promoted to the majors.

It's great, but spoiled by some incredibly awful load times. I'm just hoping that 08 sorts them out a bit. You see, it fast-forwards to the bits of the games that your player is involved with, so you don't see the full game. If, for example, you're brought on as a pinch hitter in the ninth you can have about a minute and a half of loading, hit a fly ball and get caught out, then have to endure another minute or so of loading to get back to the main menu. Followed by another minute and a half to get to the next game... etc. It's awful, awful stuff. But it's so much fun I still play it.

Um... nobody cares about any of this, do they?

To be honest, if you don't like baseball, you probably won't like it, but it might be worth a go just to check.

Motorstorm was potentially amazing, had some great online games with the quads, but then my new router wouldn't let me online (tried hours and hours of changing settings and googling fixes).

Motorstorm: Tropical Island edition sounds amazing. i hope they can get this one running at 60fps. Sega Rally has been my favourite racer in ages, and MS2 could top it.

While we're on the subject, I bought the jap version of motorstorm cheap (£9), is there a patch to make it online or is it permanently an offline game for Japan?

I think there's a patch but you can only play against other JPN players. I can't play Motorstorm against most people on here as I have a US copy.

Ah thanks. Still it's a shame theres region locking on the online stuff. Really defeats the actual point of region free gaming in some sense.

It should let you play in your local region regardless of your console or game origin.
