Got my replacement PS3 from Sony. Came on the day they promised (just 2 working days after reporting the fault)

I had to watch as a nice pink crate with plastic security tabs was opened in front of me and the shiny block of fun handed over. The new PS3 plays The Club without issue now so I can only think it was a HDD/ laser issue.

On another note I tried to replace the HDD with a nice big fat 160GB one. However the screws in the disk caddy were almost welded in and wouldn't budge. I called Sony Support last night and told them. They are now sending out a replacement caddy and fixing screws free of charge!

Good stuff.

So, the official death of HD-DVD can only be a good thing for PS3 right? The integrated Blu Ray drive is now much more of a draw for the non-hardcore yeah?

I reckon so.

I'm a bit behind with the news, so I expect this was said a few pages ago. Still, good news for PS3 huh?

How curious. Well, now you can get to Headshot Heaven with the rest of us. High score thread is in me sig ;)

If I get banned I'll just open the forum on thePSN and make everyone who posts in this thread an account. Then I'll just post there, logging out of one username and in another each time I post. It'll be like here except EVERYONE WILL ALWAYS BE AGREEING WITH HIM! I Mean me.

Yes, but in answer to your other question regarding downloaded content I was told that all locked content like Warhawk or Singstar would be made available to me again the day after they took receipt of my broken unit. Not tried it yet but no reason to doubt them; they seemed quite sure (the guy even said sorry it wouldn't be there right away)

Loving the sound of the new Logitech wheel for the PS3, looks like the old DFP but comes complete with a horn. What's not to like? Out over here in May by all accounts.

Plus it looks like GT5P will hit Euro land on the 28th March.

Christ my wallet will be greetin' next month then. It's looking like Haze hopefully, then EG World Tour and now GT5P, with Army of Two on my radar also.

Love my PS3 I do....... ;)

Should get some EG World Tour online then. I'm holding for the PSN download of GT5P as I'd prefer to run from the HDD. Hopefully it'll be in the region of the £17.99 that Play are charging for the blu-ray edition....

That new Aliens game from Sega/Gearbox looks promising too. Could we all cope with 4P online coop? If it's better than Electric Dreams' Speccy version (showing age alert) then I'm in.

So I may as well not bother with the fannying with the switching of HDD's. The only thing is I can cut the faffage of Sony replacing it by replacing it at work (where I bought it from) but if there's locked content...ah fucking hell. These things are never easy ;)

I bought EG5 last August but I'm itching to get the PAL version. Sold the japanese copy a while back and the new PSN demo has rekindled the passion.

Anyone else get the PSN email today? It mentions stuff like Pain, Dark Mist and Blast Factor Advanced Research as coming soon...

An Army of Two demo wouldn't go amiss either....
