A thread for PS3 owners Here

Those psm triggers are indeed nice but I wish I hadnt opened the mag... I thought it might be horrible (all single format mags are these days I think...) but oh my word it was terrible

the "highlight" for me was the opinionated piece where the sad excuse for a journo said that ps3 via rgb scart into a CRT gave a better playing experience for Uncharted than HDMI on a HDTV!!!

his argument was that graphics are not upto the resolution and it looks jagged etc whereas rgb and crt meant it got naturally anti-aliased.

I had to read it three times to make sure he was so utterly wrong.

I mean, on many TVs only one SCART socket is wired for RGB. It's crazy, I know. Something to do with wiring them to take S-Video-over-SCART instead of RGB SCART.

I reckon your cable itself is fine, loads have breakout sockets for composite in the middle.

Just went to the local videogame store with my brother to search for a nice multiplayer game for the PS3, but we had a hard time finding one. We considered CoD4 for a while, but deciced not to buy it (yet) because we weren't sure if there was a splitscreen co-op mode. Just checked, and I noticed there's only a multiplayer versus mode. Shame, really.

So, are there any other games for the PS3 with a splitscreen multiplayer mode (that doesn't get boring after a shot wile) in it?

Well, I've been playing a lot of Everyday Shooter and have concluded it's great. I've played many of the bullet hell freeware games it's inspired by, but I'd still say it's well worth the fiver. Challenging, nice to look at and listen to, and a definite learning experience - figuring out a new tactic is always a pleasure. The only thing I don't really like is the 8-way shooting on an analogue pad.

Can't get past those Porcos yet, but I will. I've 'bought' level three for practice play and I'm getting better at it (it's where I lose most of my lives every time) but I still haven't figured out how to get big scores out of it. The first two levels I can do pretty well out of now.

I think it's ace! Why they haven't put a demo on the UK store I can't begin to imagine, unless it's simply down to mental problems or spite.

Yeah, Everyday Shooter's really sweet. It can only be mental problems leaving no demo up. Just like it's got to be mental problems meaning I can't download Wipeout packs from the PSN on my PS3.

I was having problems on Lush Look Killer, where I was just dieing and dieing, but then I got through, and the fourth level's lovely. Eventually, I sused LLK by shooting the eye the whole time, not just when it's open. I basically only try to shoot flashing guys and eyes.

I've never understood how it's an anti-piracy measure. If I want to 'pirate' a DVD I'd rip it on my PC and then burn a dvd, which I can then play on my dvd player, PS2, PS3, whatever. Even £20 DVD players have proper RGB scart output. How on earth does it prevent piracy?

It seems even odder that the older 60gb models don't do it. Another cost cutting exercise :P

I think the 60 GB models do have it. I'm sure I read someone complaining about it on here at launch.

I don't have Wipeout yet, but can you not do the buy on the store download on the PS3 trick, which being a mac user was the only way I could have got the free PS1 wipeout way back? Yes it is crazy having this segregation of PS3 and PC stores for no apparent reason.

Resistance: Fall of Man is a pretty good, sometimes brilliant FPS with very fun split-screen co-op for the single player campaign.
