A thread for PS3 owners Here

Hello Goaty ♥

I'm playing MLB08 but I don't think it's really any better looking than Pro Yakyu Spirits, which was out ages ago. The cloth physics are better maybe, but the parks and player models don't look much better. Also the systems are a bit more broken in MLB08. Fielding is dodgy in Pro Yakyu, but the pitching and batting systems make more sense, easy to work out, hard to master. The pitching in Pro Yakyu uses a shrinking aim circle like the new advanced shot in Everybody's Golf, and was meant to represent when you let go of the ball, not the stupid swing slider thing in MLB08 which doesn't make a lot of sense. Bah.

The Everybody's Golf demo is good though, I like it. Makes up for MLB08 and Lost Planet.

Yeah I tried out MLB08 before sleeping last night. I'm clueless when it comes to baseball though but you can never tire of trying to hit a homerun. Annoying that it starts you off pitching though!

I could never buy it but I can see it doing very well in the US though.

It probably will just because the graphics are must be better than the other ones, judging on what people are saying, though it doesn't seem much to me. Maybe it's more impressive if you know who the people are supposed to be. I still think Pro Yakyu does most of it better, and in Pro Yakyu you get to see the manager on the bench with his head in his hands and all, having a wee Japanese baseball cry. Or at least, the way I play you do.

Everyday Shooter really is lovely, although it's pretty difficult (I am rubbish at twin stick shooters to be fair though). I find it a bit strange though that you can only fire in 8 directions though, unlike Super Stardust, Geom Wars etc.. which pretty much let you shoot at any angle. I just can't get to grips with playing it on the right stick and have ended up using the face buttons to direct my fire :o

Looks like my launch PS3 needs to go back to the mothership :( You may have seen my post about The Club refusing to play on my machine. After checking everything many times over, Sony are now saying it might be a possible HDD/ laser head issue so I need to return the unit.

Not bad service so far. Courier is coming to my work on Tuesday of next week to swap over a new unit. This is the first console I've owned that's actually developed a fault.

When I were a lad a console were made of brick and steel...

I rwally mustn't buy it again.

BUT I WANT TO.

I'm in the same boat. I'll be keeping the JPN version for the new course (I presume that will take a while to be released over here) but hopefully the UK version will finally see people playing online regularly. I don't think I can be bothered playing through the single player again though and therefore I'll have very low level players and maybe even be restricted to the first 5 characters. Argh.

Must.Resist.

How can I trust someone that's killed 2 of the three components of Rock Band and uses caps like they're going out of fashion?

Seriously, they're brilliant.

I paid for my first pair (with the mag) and nicked the second pair. Man, Morrisons didn't know what hit them.

Nick me some Murray, if you DARE?!? I'm a wuss.

I have no idea why I capitalised 'dare', I'm forever trying to fit in.

I bought the mag! It is indeed shit, but the triggers are nice. I guess, though I confess I didn't have as much of a problem with the original triggers as some seem to. Anyway, I got mine in Waitrose because I am dead posh like.
