A thread for PS3 owners Here

Hello Goaty ♥

You get to play the game? A lot of PS3 titles have compulsory installs.

I've only owned 3 games and none of them have made me install anything. My guess was shorter loading times, it just sounded like an exploit where people would buy and then trade in games once stored on the HDD.

Thanks for the offer Moose. I don't know anyone with a PS3 so I might just take you up on that offer.

I just had a reply from Shopto and they didn't realise that it installed data, therefore I'm not sure if they just played the disc on a unit that already had the data installed. I've gone back and asked them to uninstall all the game data and then reinsert the disc to let it install again.

Would be interested in impressions after you've had a look.....

It's £23 with next day delivery here - http://www.shopto.net/page.php?page=dettag...;codart=PS3HA02

So it would be rude not to! I've already play Half Life, Episode 1 and Portal but for twenty quid I had to pick it up. Team Fortress is meant to be fun, I'll check that out over the weekend.

I played a bit of Half Life. Graphically it's still pretty good considering it's age. It doesn't keep up with COD4 but is better than a lot of the lower-tier FPS junk that gets put out these days.

I'll be around for some COD4 tonight.

Edit. What time?

9pm?

It's all a case of trial and error, from what I can tell. You have to remember where they come from, where they head to and what creatures there are so you can put the right type of tower down. On easy you never need to research other towers so all gems should go towards upgrading.

On every easy level it should just be a case of putting down a lot of dart towers and a few canon towers all in places they run. And then upgrade them all as much as you can.

I love the idea behind but my god is it tough, I can't get past level 3 on easy

Any tips?

Exactly where I got to.

This is the problem with it. It all stems to becoming a 'kind of' memory test, only kind of because the waves are never the same type twice in a row.

I've done a bunch of the medium levels, but am now stuck because all the remaining levels seem to be locked until I get "Rainbows".

I've no idea what these rainbows actually are, or how to get them. Any suggestions?

You get rainbows by clearing a level without losing one of your little home guys. I've managed to rainbow all of the easy route so far, but yeah, it gets much harder on medium.

Hmmm I haven't been using many arrow towers, maybe thats where i'm going wrong. I got all the way to the last round on the special easy stage and then lost my last little villager, that was a lot of work down the drain and I couldn't be bothered to try again.

Great little game, if it was 20% easier it'd probably be amazing.

Quick update on PS3 freezing...

After a lengthy chat with Sony support I was told that 3rd party hdmi cables have been found to cause freezes with certain games. Never heard that one before. As for my own issue the guy was 90% sure that's what it was so I've now to try using the basic composite cable to see if it still does it. If it doesn't crash then it's the cable.

I'll update when I get a chance to try.

On the easy special stage you want to only build arrow towers and nothing else for most of the level.

You don't need to use gems to unlock any new towers (same with all easy levels), so just use them to upgrade.

Don't waste gems on green towers since they upgrade pretty quickly with a bit of dancing.

When nearing the end of the level build a few cannons along the top of the level and down the top half of the left and right edges of the level (if you run out of cash towers at bottom of the level can be safely demolished when the final monster appears) .

May be so, as I have an HDMI cable from some third party (not a gaming hardware company though). My PS3 froze a few times, I think during MotorStorm, and when my brother played FIFA 08, maybe more. At first, we thought it could be that it didn't have anough space to cool well. Anyway, it all happened within the first month of owning it, haven't had a freeze for about two months now.

Speaking of me and my brother: we're looking for a game that's nice to play in multiplayer, as the co-op in the Conflict: Desert Ops demo (about the only good thing about it) makes us crave for more (and something better). Any advice?
