Destruction Derby review:

All that PSN's 'classics' will amount to is a long, painful revelation that games you used to think were brilliant are, in fact, utter rubbish. Destruction Derby was huge in it's day, a stunning stock-car orgy with manic races and free-for-all pile-ups. Now it's a lumbering, grainy relic, with clunky D-pad steering and frustrating AI. Why not put up some PlayStation originals that haven't been ruthlessly updated and outclassed - Bishi Bashi Special or Vib Ribbon? Because for about the same price as a Store download of Destruction Derby, you could nab the still-awesome Burnout 3 Takedown from eBay.

I can see where they're coming from but there's no need for the artificially low score. Especially when trash like Conflict and Turok get 6's.

Also, GTA and GTA2 are rumoured to be appearing on the store soon. :D

Tried adding Soong and Spacehost to my friends list but it appears you two have already got the max no of friends. Anyone else I can add who fancies a but of COD4 some point?

Also what is uPnP? No matter what I do it is unavailable. Is this important playing games online?

The PS1 trash they are putting out on the PSN store is ridiculous.

There loads of stone cold classics on the PS1 and they keep trawling out absolute shite, over and over again. It's like they are making a conscious decision to pick the worst games the PS1 had to offer, not the best.

Hate to say it but XBLA is light years ahead in the quality of it's offerings.

GTA and GTA2 are not going to help.

It lets devices configure themselves for your network. Saves you having to set up port forwarding. If you're having bother connecting to other folk you might want to set it up yourself.

My PS3 reports uPnP as unavailable, despite uPnP being enabled and working on my network.

I've not played the PS3 online to see if it's an issue - I doubt it as my 360 works online 100% ok.

Aye, GTA 1 and 2 were horrible on the PS1 compared to the PC versions, which were gorgeous. I'd love to see them on XBLA or PSN with a 'save anywhere' feature and a map screen with missions, hospitals and weapons marked once you'd found them.

As for the PS1 games, there certainly is a lot of shit on there that hasn't aged well at all. The Crash series is still very playable today of course, as is Kula World and a couple of others. I'd love Colin McRae Rally 2.0 on there though, and the Res Evil and Oddworld games. I suppose some of them would be quite a substantial download though.

Mine does the exact same thing and kept reporting type 3 NAt, i.e. crap. The only way I could get it to work was to stick the PS3 in the DMZ. Works perfect now.

Thinking about it I have no idea why I was bitching about the PS1 games, I still have all my old games so I could just pop 'em in the drive if I wanted to play 'em.

And most of the stuff can be found on eBay for about the same cost (if not less) as they are to download on PSN

Yeeaah! I'm up for this. I gotta add FOBT, toneeb and Kinketsu and my list is full but I'll just delete people who I don't know/play with. So apologies for anyone I delete who I shouldn't have. Hard keeping up with who's who when the forum name's different to the PSN. Would be nice if they gave you the option to rename or even add a note next to peoples name.
