When a game is made specifically for the PS3 it usually has exceptionally good graphics, frame rates, load times etc (Uncharted or Ratchet & Clank FTOD for example). There must be major problems for developers porting games from 360 to PS3. As for Skate and Madden being poor ports you can add the original versions of Assassins Creed and PES2008 to the list as the launch versions had some severe frame rate problems than the 360 versions did not or not as much.

Nah, most of the big titles are identical or arguably better on PS3. Burnout Paradise (obv), Assassin's Creed, COD4, etc.

It's just that more noise is made about poor ports than decent ports. Namely Skate and Madden. But it's safe to say EA won't have the same problems with the next Skate or Madden.

Well, it's Lost Planet, how different do you want it to be? It offers everything the 360 version has and everything the PC version has. As far as I know. And will launch cheaper than you can currently get it for 360. I wouldn't say that is Capcom treating PS3 owners like shit.

Bullshit. Lost Planet PS3 will be £25 when it comes out? I fucking doubt it.

Oh right, we're talking about pre-owned now. Sorry for my spin! I mean, it's cheaper on PS3 from GAME than it is on 360. Or couldn't I use GAME as a reference? Maybe that's Spin. Using a secondhand price from CEX is much fairer.

It's the same price on Amazon, both £25.

But yeah, clearly spin! LOL!

Just to confirmed, yes it's £25 when it comes out on PS3. "I fucking doubt it" LOL.

What about the two 360 exclusives? And the fucking year long timed exclusive? Where's our equivalent?

I mean, they didn't even give us DMC4, a fucking PlayStation exclusive forever, as a timed exclusive!

All of the comparisons on the big sites end with the same conclusion, get the 360 version. The best quote is from the IGN Head 2 Head.

When you first pop in the disc for Assassin's Creed there are two major differences between 360 and PS3. On Sony's console there's a lengthy initial load time that puts a chunk of game data onto the PS3 hard drive. This benefit of a console that comes equipped with a hard drive is that theoretically after this one-time occurrence, games can theoretically load faster from the hard drive instead of having data read off the disc.

Notice I said load times should "theoretically" improve. The problem is that I couldn't find significant load time differences across the two consoles.

Still post patch and like Burnout and CoD4 there's so little difference that it all comes down to whether you're certifiable and prefer the SIXAXIS over the 360 pad. It's not like the last gen where there was a considerable difference so all users can be happy with their third party purchases.

Fair enough.

OK but it's still a shame the PS3 versions aren't even slightly better, oh well. Things will hopefully change over time, look at some of the stuff that came out at the end of the PS2's life.

No I'm just saying you were wrong and I was right (wooooooo, me!) about it being £25 for PS3. Who cares if DMC4 wasn't timed exclusive? In fact, why are you even getting worked up saying "omg Capcom don't love Sony". What do you want them to do, spoon you whilst you sleep or something? Fuuucks sake.

Well if it's true about it being easier to port from PS3-360 than 360-PS3 then, like Burnout Paradise, I imagine thirdparty games will be a tiny bit better on PS3. Although it's so marginal it's not worth talking about.

Yes the PS3 version is marginally better. So marginal that if you had to guess which version was running you wouldn't be able to tell, unless you saw the console hooked up. It's not like the old Splinter Cell PS2 vs xbox days.

As for PS3 exclusives being 100 times better looking, well that's clearly fanboy bullshit. Which is evident in the way you're talking about Capcom telling "us" to fuck off.

Ok just let me know when the PS3 produces something as good looking as BioShock. What a stupid argument. Besides WarHawk is the best looking PS3 game. The scale is stunning and it doesn't take place in a shrink wrapped world.

Yeah, in fantasy fanboy land. Not too sure why I entered into this sort of conversation with the kind of person who's offending Capcom has betrayed him. Still what else is there to do on a friday afternoon?

Oh and you just need to turn on BioShock to see why it's the best looking game. I love watching people playing it for the first time just to see them realise that they are in control after the plane crash and it's not a movie. Still it'll be out on the PS3 soon enough so you'll be able to admit it's good looking you blatant wind up merchant.

It really isn't. Uncharted is stylish and has great facial and body animation but it's nowhere near as nice as Bioshock. You really need to stop being so abbrasive. It also helps to take Beertiger with a pinch of salt :angry:

Uncharted looks better than Bioshock. It's a fact. You can't deny it.
While Bioshock is a better looking game, Uncharted has far superior graphics.

It's amazing how much art direction plays in making a game look good. Compare, say, Turok to Shadow Of The Collosus. I know which one looks better, even if the graphics are getting on a bit.

So, these themes for the front end. That Okami one is getting slapped on tonight fo sho, but is there a decent resource for more? I like variety.

Google for PS3 themes and you should find loads. Some are very impressive. There's a thread on neogaf that has loads of decent ones so you might wanna google "neogaf ps3 themes" to find that.
