A thread for PS3 owners Here

Hello Goaty ♥

Also, who is playing COD4 online? I was played it Sat/Sun over the weekend at a mates and it's awesome. I'd done the single player ages ago but never gave online a chance but it's waaaay cool.

I traded mine in as it kept crashing on me (in single and multi player) Has it been patched? When I spoke to Activision support they said they knew there were some issues and a patch may be coming. It was a pity as I was actually enjoying it a fair bit (think I was just half way through the single player)

I'm going to try and get a regular game going on Modern Warfare Monday, so expect me online from 9 tonight. I'll try not to murder you too much.

To be honest, it depends on what 'console exclusives' (including marketplace games) you want to play and how much you get on with the sixaxis. Well, those were the two criteria for me.

At the moment all I am thinking about is GTA4. I hated the Sixaxis but I haven't used it loads. Just had a few hours at most.

Going to pick up a second hand 40GB tomorrow if Gamestation still have it, I'm not paying to have my 360 fixed for X months until it goes again so I can trade in loads of games and some accessories towards it.

Does the 40 play original PS games? I assume it does given you can buy some on the PSN I think, just checking. Quite a few titles from back then I'd like to play again for a few quid.

Unless the Dualsixaxisshock 3 or whatever it's called has new sticks the weight and rumble won't make a jot of difference for me.

I can get along OK with the sticks but unless R2 and L2 change so that my fingers don't slip off them, or make it really hard to hold them at any angle, i'm going to have to avoid games that use those buttons heavily.

You should have gotten them Real Triggers off that magazine! They're awesome. They clip on perfectly and make them, like... REAL TRIGGERS!

You must be able to find them online for a couple of quid, see if you can hunt them down.

So any truth to the post from the Shopto.net marketing guy, namely that RS Vegas 2 has been canned for the PS3 in addition to the next Splinter Cell and a "slight rumour" that Ubisoft are canning all PS3 work until the development costs come down? Seems a little far-fetched but a rather strange thing for a retailer to post.

It's spin "the next Splinter Cell has been canned for PS3" it was always a 360 exclusive (as he mentions at the top of the post) also Haze has a firm date now does it not?

And didn't Assassin's Creed sell over £2m on PS3? They can't be doing that badly from the PS3.

Depends how much of the development cost is attributed to the ps3 build surely ?

I'm sure splinter cell was always going to be 360 only but no R6Vegas2 would be a bit of a kick to the balls given how revered the first one was although again it may have sold poorly on ps3 so they may be concerned about not recouping dev costs.

The DS3 is exactly the same but rumbles and is a bit heavier.

Actually, my DS3 has less rounded tops on its analogue sticks, and this makes a huge improvement to my aiming in Resistance and other shooty-shooty games. A small thing, but the difference surprised me.

If the SIXAXIS/DualShock 3 had linear triggers and concave analogue tops it would be such a better controller. Why hasn't a third-party cashed in on this yet?

As bad as the Sixaxis sticks are, in Unreal Tournament 3 I can headshot no problem but in Resistance it's impossible to aim properly. In short, the stick issues can be sort of negated if a developer implements a good control system (which is probably some major auto aim).

Apparently OPM will have these free with the issue released on 14th Feb.

Or it might be a different magazine but still has the Real Triggers with it.

Apparently the company that makes them, Gioteck, has no intention of selling them.
