On the Ps3 online for the first time. Tried to play Resistance online but it will not let me... The Ps3 is from HKi is that why? If it is i'm fucked with playing online with friends now

Not sure but I had a lot of difficulty with getting online Resistance for first time.

Monsters is ace. It's hard, mind. I hit a wall with Easy 3, which ended up taking six or seven attempts. Fine tuning where the place the canons and working out if it's better to have loads of underpowered crossbows, or just have a few and power them up.

Top tips so far:

Don't bother saving green gems for research. Just use them to upgrade existing towers.

Only use 2 or 3 canons per level, and be 100% sure that their range covers an entire area that monsters move past. Power them up the most.

Spread out the canons - grouping them together seems to lessen their effectiveness.

Don't bother with the anti-air guns, at least on the opening Easy levels.

If you have money, always build more towers.

Only stop standing near towers and powering them up, to grab coins and gems.

So I've made a new account. Copied my burnout save data over to new one but when playing the game it says it can't load it as its corrupt or something :lol: Anyone had this problem with games before?

Tried adding soong but his friends list is full!

Probably because certain games don't allow their saves to be copied/transferred.

Then it should say when you try to copy it 'This game does not support users to exchange save files'. When I did it I was told it was sucessful.

Probably because you don't need to buy a separate, overpriced, proprietery memory card to transfer stuff - any memory card or USB drive will work on the PS3. Bit odd that they don't give a warning that a savegame won't work on another console though, or at least say this when you try to load it instead of a generic 'corrupt file' error...

Apparently...

When they released the final code for Resistance, Insomniac were supposedly not aware that sony would be releasing an asian region of the ps3. SO what basically happens is that if you try to connect from this region ie Hong Kong / Taiwan, the resistance will not even attempt to connect to a server. Insomniac have since released a specific region version of this game with updated code that will allow you to play online, but you need the Hong Kong/Taiwan version of the game.

It seems to only be a problem with this one game.

Anyone installed linux on their PS3? Is it any good for emulation, I wouldnt mind playing some old dos games, Tie fighter, X-com apoc etc etc.

Yes and don't bother unless you REALLY like linux. There are some emulators for it (basically anything for PPC linux will do) but a chipped xbox is about ten times better in function and usability.

It costs nothing to try it out for yourself though.
