A thread for PS3 owners Here

Hello Goaty ♥

Recommended Posts

I got that, and decided I didn't want to buy things from the PS US store enough to fax (or email!!!!!) my ID and full credit card details anywhere.

Mine was approved straightaway. I used my National Insurance number as my "government ID" and my credit card is already enrolled on that verified by visa thing. I wonder if that's why mine was ok. It literally was five minutes for me.

Having a mental debate.

Was going to upgrade my PC but decided I'm going to use that money to sort myself out with recording equipment.

Instead, I'm going to sell my Wii off seeing as there's nothing else worth having coming out this millenia (bar Brawl, but that can be played one someone else's time).

I can either take my chances and get an estimate of around £330 cash for all my stuff, minus eBay fees and so forth. Trade it in for cash at CEX and get £334 cash, or trade in for credit at CEX and get £368 in store credit.

http://www.cex.co.uk/search.php?ispostback...tion=1&pl=5

CEX in Liverpool have both the 40gb and 60gb. Which one should I get, at £285 and £385 respectively? Is there really that much difference? Still got a PS2 for those rare occasions so that's no major thing, but is the only other difference really backwards compatibility?

Should I go with trade in? Or should I get cash and go for a package. If so, which package?

Sorry to annoy, of course.

As I can't find the Time Crisis thread (and as the search function appears to be offline) can anyone answer the following? Using Time Crisis on a projector (about an 8 foot wide image)...will it work or not? And if it does work how are the practicalities in setting it up etc. I remember that a couple of people were importing and going to try, but haven't seen any feedback. Ghost Squad has got me dreaming of some big screen light gun action again...which is a dream I've had since having my first projector years ago. Any feedback would be welcomed.

.::: I believe it works with sensors you need to stick to the screen's sides (a bit like the Wii Sensorbar). It seem plausible that they'll 'scale along' and you have to calibrate it when starting to define the screen's size.

It certainly doesn't sound impossible now that the sensors make the type of monitor a non-issue.

Get cash and buy a new one, I wouldnt touch a 2nd hand console with a barge pole.

WOW, £385 for a 60GB, that's more than I paid for mine.. NEW!

That was me and I tried but I don't believe I ever reported back, shame on me.

Anyway, I attempted it on a projector and found the following:

Sensors only span out to 2 feet max so the sensors end up being inside the video image. An example of the perfect setup is shown here:

nbga102.jpg

Notice how the sensors are directly at the edges of each side of the display? This is exactly how it should be setup for the GunCon 3 and Time Crisis 4. However it is impossible to get it like this as the projection image is far wider than the cable between the sensors can support.

The workaround? Decrease your projection image to a smaller one. Even though the sensors aren't quite at the edges (should be kept central to the image) the accuracy is very good and standing up whilst shooting at a wall has never been so much fun.

I used double sided sticky tape to attach the sensors above the projected image.

As long as you can get round the facts I have stated above, you'll still have a blast using it with a projector, I certainly did.

I'm still pretty tempted to sell my 60gb and then get a 40gb to keep the change. Pretty lazy though. And would want an external hdd first.

Unless you don't play PS2 games, use more than 2 USB ports or access memory cards, do it.

OH AND EVERYONE BUY A BLUETOOTH HEADSET, GET YOUR SHIT TOGETHER!!!

Why when you have a PS Eye, pointless!?

Who's getting Burnout? Add me if you haven't already!

Yeah but not the crappy Jabra one that comes with WarHawk. Might get a USB HEADSET, as I can rarely make out a word, nevermind a sentence, using the Jabra POS.

It's impossible to hear someone in-game if their voice is coming through the TV. Unless you're playing a reaaaally quiet game. And I sit real far from my Eye anyway.

Odd, I was having a right good game of Tekken 5: DR Online with someone earlier tonight and he was teaching me all kinds of moves with different characters and I heard him just fine.

And the reason for the 4 mics in the Eye is so that it can detect you from far away, left to right.

Well, Tekken is a quiet game, I guess. If you're in Warhawk and there's shit blowing up all over the place you can't really hear someone's voice. Better in the ear, for shizzle!

Not to mention the feedback you can get from the Eye.

It's not though, there is constant metal music playing. Even when in Warhawk (which I have played twice since owning a PSEye) I have been able to communicate perfectly with team mates. When I said plane left the gunner would target left etc...

Works fine for me in all my games including COD4, which works really well might I add so I have no plans to get a head set. Not when I can play and talk without wires.

In an ideal world I would prefer to have it seperate but it's just handy not having to wrap something around your neck every time you need to communicate with someone & at the end of it all I can deal with the game sound and player sound mixing.
