A thread for PS3 owners Here

Hello Goaty ♥

Recommended Posts

I've been delighted with my PS3, despite the constant yelling of others telling me how shit it is, but this PSN business is really REALLY starting to get on my tits.

Even Nintendo, who lets face it hardly have a brilliant track record of bringing stuff regulary and on time to Europe, are showing them up. I wish there was some way I could properly complain about it to them, but I sense it would be an utter waste of my time.

People tried on Singstar over Christmas and the videos just mysteriously vanished. So they know they're shit, they just don't give a shit.

Shiiiiiiit.

Ah dear PS3, you shall remain untouched for another week (unless I can figure out this us prepaid credit card thing and get on with everyday shooter).

Sign up to the entropay system, www.entropay.com, its actually a UK thing not a US and it works a treat.

PSN stuff works but singstar dlc doesn't ;)
Yeah I heard that too not that it's ever been an issue for me since I'm not going to be changing my PS3. I think someone on another forum got some success from customer services on this.

Ah poo pants ;)

Will have to give Customer Service a shout when I get my 40gb one then.

Even before the PC version released, rumours of a PS3 conversion of the stunning Crysis (developed by Far Cry creators Crytek) were rife, and not far off the mark if insiders at the studio are to be believed. The game looks to be a port of the PC original plus some extra modes and features, a kind of Crysis 1.5. Like the PC game you can expect a visual powerhouse; an open-world shooter that begins on a beautiful tropical island before things take a turn for the worse and aliens from a parallel world stake a claim on Earth. Only the mighty Killzone 2 could possibly hold a candle to this shooter. For technical reasons we hear an Xbox 360 version of Crysis isn’t in development. Bet you’re glad you bought a PS3 now, eh?

Slightly bias reporting there, perhaps. But I'd sure like to see it on PS3!

What tends to be the cause of white dots sparkling around the screen with the PS3? I'm hoping it's jus the cable (it goes if I fiddle with the cable) but could it be something related to it overheating? Because if it's on ages the fan goes mental.

Turok demo is gonna be up within the hour, apparently! Nothing else exciting for the US store.

As for the Crysis 'rumour', wouldn't it be easier to do it on the 360 due to the way its memory is handled? I'm not the most technically minded person, I just seem to hear a lot of people complaining about the PS3's RAM.

In any case, I'm quite looking forward to FarCry 2 after reading the feature in this month's Edge. I know we haven't seen the console versions yet, but at least it isn't going to be like the horrendous Xbox FarCry games.

That sounds potentially related to overheating, any graphical/video issues are often related to overheating.

As I've said in the past, give your PS3 a good cleaning once a month and also don't leave it on for heavilly long periods of time (I.e. Folding@Home). Sure it's good to help the gift of science and medicine but it's also good to look after your PS3. :D

Yep i wouldve thought that also, there is fucking noway they will get the same game running on ps3 it will have to be toned down no end have they even seen what kind of rig you need to run crysis well lol.

What? The 360 has a good chance of running it, and the ps3 is alleged to have better capabilities (if properly used, before anyone starts on that :D). Pc specs have little bearing on how well a console will perform the exact same task though. For starters the pc has to run other things at the same time, whereas console native code is much more usually optimised. I'm not declaring the ps3 to be able to give it 100% (I've neither played the game nor am I involved in coding games), but your outright dismissal of its capacity to do the game any form of justice seems a little premature and lacking in any insight whatsoever. Seemingly the only reason given for the 360 to not be able to pull it off was its lack of DX10, which was laughed at seeing as the game also runs on dx9. The ps3's graphics capabilites are at least equal to the 360's, and ram issues can be reduced through good programming and innovative techniques (or simply skimping in a few areas)

There calling it crysis 1.5 for god sake. And the 360 is alleged to have a better gpu and better memory management yet i still dont think it would run crysis 1.5 lol. If these consoles where that good why do we see rts and stuff that are ported to console look so downgraded. Pc have alot more memory better cpu and gpus to work with. The way they worded it, it would be crysis but better i highly doubt that given what kind of pc is needed to run crysis on high settings and stable.

.::: Considering his F@H score, I don't think Soong even consciously runs F@H.
