A thread for PS3 owners Here

I already own Connect 360. I want to make sure it doesn't mess it up before I install medialink.

reading the neogaf link, it might indeed be wise to hold off installation for a while, until the next update. Connect360 is apparently another DLNA server by the nullriver people but with different strong points...

I own connect360 and installed MediaLink but couldn't get anything to work properly, kept getting various error messages. Couldn't really arsed faffing around with ports/NATs at the time so not sure why. The preference pane seemed to hang a for a while. I'll give it another try tomorrow.

You know, I get more and more confused with LBP. Yeah you can create your own cool levels but they won't be anything more than 'Go from A to B' ? Will there be 'tools' you can use like spikes on a floor as a generic example that can kill the player? So you can basically make SMB type levels? or is it more about 'Make a nice level and enjoy walking/running/jumping through it etc'?

Ironically enough I just saw this on Kotaku. A quote of the relevant bit:

The team just showed off a new pre-built level for the first time, one that introduces player death and respawn points to the DIY platformer. One of the new materials, under the "terribles" group, is a steaming hot magma rock, one that kills on contact. Sackboys who've been killed off can return later, courtesy of respawn portals.

MediaLink update has been released (1.01) and seems to have cleared up a lot of the problems I was having earlier, in that I can actually stream files now. Still keep getting DLNA errors from that cause a loss of connection. I reckon it'll take another update or two before it's running as smoothly as connect360.

Also, still get the odd 'date type not supported' error message when playing some AVIs (but I imagine that's due to the PS3 firmware rather than Nullriver's software). Shame that there's no chapter skip type function on the video player, it's quite handy on the 360.
