A thread for PS3 owners Here

Hello Goaty ♥

Recommended Posts

Rayman (the first) and Street Fighter Alpha have been rated by the ESRB so will be on the US store soon.

Is that Rayman (the first) as in the one that appeared on the Atari Jaguar first...?

(Mildly upset because I just paid top-whack for the Jag version...!)

Yes it is.

Wonder if there will be a DMC4 demo given that it would take 30mins or whatever to install.

Waaa 30mins... I hope you're joking, have you played a near final build, if so do the levels take a while to load?

Heavenly Sword loading take a fair while imo (and with over a 2Gb install, I thought would greatly reduce loading) whilst a beautiful game, the having to reload a level was a pain.

How come despite the PS3 having a HDD as standard, games take longer in loading up compared the the 360, is this down to the avail video memory and the like avail to programmers :)

Only Uncharted (that I've played currently) seems to not suffer with lengthy loads between levels (but Naughty Dog seemed to have this sorted when they did Jak & Daxter on the PS2 too).

The power of Blu-ray is just too much for it to handle in a timely manner.

The final version of DMC4 on the PS3 has a 4.5GB (!) install, which will initially take some time to complete. After that, it has no loading times whatsoever.

The 360 version has a 4-5 second loading time when moving from area to area.

Personally I easily prefer the PS3 route. I'm sure I can find something to do for 30mins.
