A thread for PS3 owners Here

Hello Goaty ♥

Recommended Posts

You know that's never gonna happen. To currently reach the mass market they have to have the games available in shops. 'Limiting' themselves to online only would be shooting themselves in the foot.

Sony will be right on it, then.

Is it just me or have quite a few people picked up PS3s over Christmas? I find it quite funny how the tone of one forum I go on to has shifted in the last few weeks from a pro-360 attitude to more platform agnostic.

If only this place was platform agnostic. I think the forum would explode

Shouldn't it be exploding now then?

Looking forward to tonights amazing update. Anyone know how Eye of Judgement has done? Obviously not that great as it as heavily discounted after about a week but I hope the lower price has encouraged people to take a dip because that may have eclipsed WarHawk as my favourite game.

After 7 months, my PS3 has stopped reading discs. I was worried about not getting another 60GB version, but Sony will replace it no problem.

Ah, the joy of multi-platform (looks at his Wii, and tells his 360 it would be a very bad time to RROD)

We're some way off being agnostic. Granted, the whopping 360 bias isn't as strong as it was, and people are no longer saying the wii has no games, but it's not quite agnostic just yet. Stepping in the right direction though!

I dunno, 2 months is a reasonable amount of time for discounting in xmas sales. It wasn't exactly cheap to begin with though so it should have stimulated sales a fair bit

Looking forward to hear about Haze.

I'm confused about Haze. I read something a week or two ago saying it had been delayed till q4 2008, but no one seems to have cottoned on or debunked it

That rumour started when the US Ubisoft shop had it listed for August 2008. It's now changed to March 2008.

Then the 28 days or so for the eu release is still on?

Didn't Cwyhux imply that each country gets different content? Or do we usually get what the french get?

Nothing's confirmed. It's developed in the UK but published by an American company so I doubt we'll get it before them. The date recently was 8th Jan 2008 and it seems that's how the American date got wrong. They put it in their db as 08/01/08 which came out as August instead of January. But now it's listed as March on both so who knows. I wouldn't hold your breath for a release in January.

I got Dual Shock 3 (White one) for my PS3. I enjoyed it with Uncharted  Burnout Paradise Demo, Ratchet new game work with it, but GT 4 HD, NBA 2008, Winning Eleven 2008 and Motorstorm demo doesn't support rumble.

So which game support them and which one doesn't ?

Just like to know.

The pad is fine, just heavier than expected. Could be due to batteries and rumble motor make it heavier combined.

.::: The Dutch Shop doesn't necessarily get the same stuff as the UK, so I don't think that any release somewhere in Europe sets the rest in stone.

Following the successful digital release of Tomb Raider Anniversary over Xbox Live, Crystal Dynamics' Riley Cooper has told GamesIndustry.biz that Sony's PlayStation Network should offer more flexibility for delivering future titles.
"I'm very, very interested in digital distribution and the potential it has," said Cooper, speaking during GDC Lyon last month. "PlayStation Network is extremely interesting because it's a more flexible space."

"We made an in-road with Anniversary on 360, and it was a full game essentially, but Microsoft is only slowly increasing requirements and opening up the constraints of Xbox Live. It's been a slow process, whereas PSN hasn't been restricted by size, they've just done Warhawk for example."

Aaaand...

File this in the "hmm, interesting" folder of your mind's desktop. Sony's polling its customers in the Asian market for ways in which they can improve their PC/PSP PlayStation Store. One of the selectable responses is "Monthly subscription plan (1 price for unlimited download)". Interesting idea. Would you be happy paying a set amount each month, ala GameTap, for unlimited access to the store's PSP and PS1 games? I sure as sugar would. Well...as soon as anyone outside Japan starts getting decent PS1 games, that is.

Did you waste money on that shit ?

Serious answer though is you shoulda gone to the JP store - I fell into this trap running USA Ninja Gaiden Sigma and downloading one of the packs from the UK PSN - needless to say it didn't tie up.

Region free indeed.
