A thread for PS3 owners Here

Hello Goaty ♥

Nice one, I do actually have a Love Film account already (haven't bothered sending any back for a few weeks though). Just added these games: Uncharted, MotorStorm, Ninja Gaiden Sigma, Ratchet & Clank, Resistance: Fall Of Man, Ridge Racer 7 and Warhawk. And a few Blu Ray discs: Black Hawk Down, Con Air, Edward Scissorhands, Hellboy, Ice Age 2: The Meltdown, Pirates of the Caribbean, The Rock, Rocky Balboa, Saw III and The Simpsons Movie.

I've also been downloading some demos, shame you don't get any on a disc like the original PlayStation though

For me the most amazing thing is still the noise or lack of it. I have a 360 and a PS3. The PS3 gets much more use because it is so quiet, I can watch films on it without having to have the sound up to insane levels. It also linked instantly with my pc though I never managed to get my 360 to do that.

Live is better and the 360 pad is better but the PS3 has lots of other advantages. Imo you need both.

Always seemed a little flaky on the 360 which I found bizarre. Quite fast on the PS3 AND... did you know the PS3 will copy stuff to its HDD from a DAAP share? Crazy. On saying that I do wish there was a page up/down button like on the triggers or something. Makes scrolling hard work when you have a ludicrous amount of music.

I guess it's just down to the utilisation / location of the server you connect to, as to whether PSN or XBL stuff downloads quickly, as they vary in speed from person to person. PSN stuff downloads at my full bandwidth, so firmware updates are a few minutes. XBL stuff takes forever. A 750MB demo will take a few hours. I shudder to think how long a 6GB movie would take.

Not strictly ps3 related but

Guess what babies? All your wildest dreams are about to come true (provided they don't get too wild). That's right, according to new PR for Sony's upcoming CES showing, Skype is apparently coming to the PSP. Details are scarce at the moment (i.e., nonexistent), but the company makes clear mention of a Skype client for the handheld game system on its CES 2008 promo site, which is pretty official -- though we're gonna hold our breath a little till we see a press release. Obviously, we'll be hearing a lot more about this when the big show kicks off this month, but until then at least we can all sleep a little better at night knowing the PSP is about to get yet another succulent function. Just hit the read link and click on the controller icon, all you need to know is listed in the sidebar.

Because I want them to start releasing them all on store.playstation.com instead.

You know that's never gonna happen. To currently reach the mass market they have to have the games available in shops. 'Limiting' themselves to online only would be shooting themselves in the foot.

That is what hacks me off, downloads of a 1Gb or more can take a while ie over an hour, yet I can download a DVD-R sized torrent in approx 50mins, (i am on a 20Mb connection)

Along with Everyday Shooter and Pain, with Strider 2, Chrono Cross, Suikoden and Legend of Mana as new classic Playstation downloads.

(I fucking wish.)

Jesus, don't do that to me! Just glanced up and saw Suikoden and nearly had a heart attack.

I wish the PSP version of Suiko I and II would get a release in the US.
