What the fuck are you talking about? Where did I state that I don't like 3rd-person action games?

Did you read what I typed properly? After the first level, you've seen everything, you've done everything. Then the rest of the shit starts to happen, with the lunatic respawning and the unresponsive controls and BLA BLA BLA.

And no, I don't put things on discs. My 360 runs on pixie dust.

If you want to waste your money, go right ahead. Pretentious Helvetica's employer will cackle evermore.

Easy tiger. It was a genuine question. I vaguely remember you played the demo and didn't like it. I may be wrong, I'm not going to trawl through this to check. If I am, sorry.

But if that is the case, why bother to download the full thing? Then spend a few hours playing it? That I just don't get. You could be playing something you enjoy.

Unless you secretly like it, of course.

Full games can sometimes be much better than demos, and vice versa. Rarely does a demo tell you everything you might want to know about a game, and even if it does, you aren't to know that until you've played it.

I do think it's a little bit amusing that the most positive thing anyone's said about the game for a while is that it's original IP, when it isn't even that.

Actually, you're right. I think I did slag it off. It was just really generic... but compared to the rest of the game, it's frigging GOTY.

Hell, I can't win. People will either say "I bet you played it for five minutes" or they'll say what you said.

Fucksakes.

Psi-Ops? Gimmicky 3rd person throwaway toss. The last decent game by Midway was the original Spy Hunter.

I, err, liked the remake of Spy Hunter.

Er, it is. Unless you're trying to compare it to Max Payne which wouldn't have existed if it wasn't for John Woo's movies anyhow.

I unexpectedly had a lot of fun with Shaolin Monks in co-op - it does the whole co-op thing rather nicely. Recent MK games have been nicely received too.

Heh, fair enough. I was just amused / confused by your posting 'Just finished the first level, god it's shit, I'm going to give up now', followed by 'Just finished the second level...etc' up to level 6. You seem strangely drawn to it even though you hate it.

Bit like me and Big Brother. :(

I really like the slow mo bullet power up - the guys seem to die slightly differently depending on where you shot them or where they were standing (although most of them didn't really move and were high up on scaffolding or whatever).

But yeah, i liked that bit.

Nice, but wasted effort, since 99% of people will constantly shoot them in the bollocks.

Started playing this last night after loving the demo, early impressions for the whole game are getting lower by the second. The 1st level is great as everyone knows, but yes the following level 2&3 are pretty pish and I ain't expecting too much from the rest.

Shame as I was expecting this to be pretty good from the demo, but it seems that the designers have put most of the effort into the demo to make a a pile load of good first impression sales.

Bah - nothing more than a fancy slow motion stress reliever at this point for me. ;)

I was under the impression that Stranglehold is effectively a sequel to Hard-Boiled, and is based around the lead character from that film?

It is. I love Hard Boiled. :)

Seriously. There's nothing original about this game. It takes a character from the movie and steals a load of stuff from other games. Still, I'll buy it because its Chow Yun Fat and John Woo together again.

Playing the demo the other day, Chow Yun Fat took a dive and literally ended up going through the floor. I had him running around underneath the map in an empty black void. After doing this for a while, he eventually fell to his death into a bottomless pit. Game over.

If I'd pre-ordered the game, I would cancel it.

*PRE-ORDER CANCELLED ANYWAY*

Yes, yes, I'm sure Midway will sell loads more copies with that post.

He's right though. The past four pages consist entirely of you slagging off the game. You don't like it, we get it - for all our sakes please just let some more people play the fucking thing so we can actually have a reasonably informed discussion about it.
