Totally Awesome Halloween Tunes

Ok, so my mate has asked me to dj between bands for his Halloween gig and I have happily accepted. But... he's looking for Halloween themed tunes. Now, beyond Monster Mash and Demonique by Aim, I can't think of very many other Halloween tracks. Now, I realise it'll be difficult to get enough tracks to fill the entire night, but any recommendations that I could throw into the mix would be greatly appreciated.

Either that, or I'm playing a Gravediggaz album on loop all night....

And yes, I know Halloween is a while away yet, but I like to be prepared. So shut it.

And I'd considered using some film music too- the Halloween theme is perfect.

I was thinking it'd be a breeze to mix into another tune, but of course it's in 5/4, which might make it tricky. Are you looking chiefly at dance-based music? If you can slip some guitar in then the Cramps are a rich source of horror-related songs; Surfin' Dead for sure. I guess you're already mentioned Monster Mash, so I assume you're more interested in the theme than the genre. If you can use MP3s I've got a load of old novelty horror songs - I Want My Baby Back, that's a belter, and on vinyl I've got an excellent Spike Jones album from the 50s, I think, that's full of songs sung by Dracula, Frankenstein and at one stage a two-headed beatnik.

Anyway; Whodini, Freaks Come Out at Night, shove that one in the box. Theme for Ghostbusters, 12" if you've got it. Ah, kudos to Dapple...

Cheers for that Esar, I'll download it when I get home.

Rowan, I think I'd like as wide a range of music as possible. The night itself features a Misfits tribute act and a Stooges tribute act, so Suicidal Tendencies would certainly fit. Though I want to stick some cheese in there as well- don't want to get too serious on people. How I'm going to manage to mix them together is going to be a whole different problem though, but I'll worry about that once I have some tunes sorted out.

I can use MP3's (cd decks, so it's not REAL djing) too, so any uploads would be greatly appreciated.

Alice Cooper - He's Back (The Man Behind the Mask)

Nick Cave and the Bad Seeds - Red Right Hand

The Backstreet Boys - Backstreet's Back

DJ Food - The Crow

Jimmy Scott - Under the Sycamore Trees (from the Twin Peaks: Fire Walk With Me soundtrack)

You could always throw in some kids songs/dialogue from horror films/Halloweeny mash-ups in there. In fact I have a mash-up of Bad and the Ghostbusters theme that might go down well, if you'd like it. And a glorious SID chip rendition of Thriller. Used to have an accordion version as well, but it appears to have been misplaced.

Also, the theme to The Blob, and Purple People Eater by Sheb Wooley.
