Now, I'm fine to a degree with everyone's play in the hand preflop, I have advertised my obvious aces, and the fish wants to flop a set depite horrendous odds, which is also fine. God knows why aa88 didn't 4bet pre so that I could isloate the retard, but whatever. what I find utterly amazing is that on the river VonTuuba voluntarirly bet over 300bb into a dry side pot which he had absolutely no chance of winning, because I am never ever calling there unless I have him absolutely crushed. It's utterly astonishing. Needless to say he is now my new best poker friend.

Ouch, unlucky. A bit of advice, though: you should be folding Q8 off-suit in that position. It's a bit of a nothing hand, especially in early-middle position on a full-ring table.

Harsh beat post-flop but Dazza's advice is sound. If the table was incredibly passive and you just had to play the hand then you should really be raising with it rather than limping. I would have just dumped it, though; you'll lose much, much more than you win on the odd occasion you flop a monster in the long run limping from that position with that type of hand.

Don't get me wrong, I like to mix it up as much as anybody, particularly if the table is passive -- but limping in early position with the likes of Q8o will be your undoing.

Speaking of online SnGs and aces, in the last two tournaments i've played, i've desperately needed to double up (as in, either shoving all my chips in pre or folding) and i've waited and waited until getting an ace to shove with, and both times (maybe it's 3 now, can't remember), i've been called by people in later positions with aces. Yet in almost every other heads up I see in these tournaments where someone is holding aces, they get cracked. Pisses me off!

I mean, jesus! In the first hand his odds must have been below 5%. Even after he hit his 3 on the turn he was drawing to so few cards it was ridiculous - just the two queens and the two 3s, the queen of spades is no good as it would have given me the nut flush. And the second is just straight up jokerstars action, I called the king to drop on the river as soon as he flipped his hand over.

I love going out of a tournament that i'm 1st in, then consistently in the top 10 for the first 1.5 hours, then going losing most of my stack (then going out) to two ridiculous hands where i'm absolutely crushing my opponent preflop/postflop.

First hand when it all goes in you're about 66/33, and those are the only odds that matter really. Obviously his shove is hilariously bad, but can't you fold a-rag to a raise like that pre, or did you know he was a complete dipshit?

Obviously the 2nd call is terrible, but what can you do?

Yeah, he'd gone all in over the top of a few pfr's, a couple of mine. I knew my ace was going to be good, it wasn't requiring too much more of my stack anyway.

I haven't played poker in about three months due to the frequency and extremity of bad beats I was receiving. Probably serves me right for playing on PKR, but I'm disillusioned beyond belief. I was getting pretty skill too.
