Poet
This is where the game's more about bankroll management than anything else, I guess. You considering dropping down until the worst of it passes, or are you going to weather the storm? I'm going to buy in a little more to keep at 50NL, owing to needing to complete a bonus in the next four days and I don't have more than a few hours per day to complete it. I have the cash. Just never in my life needed to put more money into a poker site other than for a deposit bonus!

mayor_mike_haggar
Perhaps I'm too used to the micro tables on stars which seem to have way more low stakes grinders and set miners than anywhere else, seemingly. My main criticism of stars low stakes is that people there seem to play too tight as opposed to being massive fish. If only I'd got rakeback when I signed up for party... Quite what the 77 guy was thinking there is completely beyond me. Either shove your puny stack if you think you'll be racing, or fold. What the point of calling with a raise for 1/4 of your stack with a medium pair oop is I'll never know.

Poet
I'm now down $825 from starting last week, including a 9 buyin loss at 100NL and a slight win at 50NL now. Considering my graph was pretty much smooooth sailing up about 18 buyins at 50NL over c.12.5k hands in that time (standard for me really, especially on Party, though maybe a little hot), you can imagine that my graph now basically looks like a sodding ski jump with an abyss after the long climb. I lost all that money at 50NL and some more, so well over a 20 buyin downswing. It's funny because I've never experienced this sort of thing before. Sure, bad days, even up to 15 buyin downswings, but not this relentless buggery. And I've only put down a handful of the silly beats I've had from today as I've been playing, let alone the dozens of retarded bad beats I've had in the past 7 or 8 sessions. I know this isn't the thread for it but if this hand had lost as well, I'd have been a little annoyed. Sure, by no means a terrible beat to lose it but damn it would have hurt a LOT given how badly it's all been going: ***** Hand History for Game 7624399544 ***** $50 USD NL Texas Hold'em - Wednesday, December 17, 14:02:40 ET 2008 Table Table 126728 (Real Money) Seat 5 is the button Total number of players : 6 Seat 1: Bresladd ( $49.25 USD ) Seat 2: DD1979 ( $101.25 USD ) Seat 3: Poet ( $72.37 USD ) Seat 5: p0kertante ( $86.97 USD ) Seat 6: tinytyson22 ( $56.66 USD ) Seat 4: xMJ666 ( $45.36 USD ) Bresladd posts small blind [$0.25 USD]. Still underrolled for 50NL but I'm back to 8 tabling now. I only put in enough cash to get another $250 bonus, so if I complete the entire $750 bonus over the next 10 days, plus don't run like total arse some more, I'll probably make it to the heady heights of perhaps even a whopping £10 per hour rather than the £40+ I should (and used to) be making between 50 and 100NL. Not what I'm used to, but I'm confident I'll get all my money back and the bonuses, and move back up to 100NL as and when. I'm changing my bankroll requirements to 30 buyins per level rather than 20 now, which is what I used to use for 200NL, so steady as she goes! mayor_mike_haggar
3rd nuts, actually. Villain's call on the flop is kinda iffy but not necesarilly awful, turn is harder to play, here I'd probably put poet on either an overpair slowplayed on the flop, pair of 10s, top set or something like Acxc, hard to see him with a 5, unless it's 55 in which case gg, really the last thing you want to do in this spot is cc, it's either bet or check fold. OOP i'd probably let this one go since you're too likely behind. His check on the river is criminal, since poet's probably got enough of a hand to call a 1/2 pot value bet unless you want him to try and bluff you with a busted fd.
