Iv done my first iron banner, absolutely loved it. I like how the missions encourage you to play differently. My only gripe is the heavy weapon challenges are hard.

I bought the level 5 machine guns, it looks shit but I spent so long getting it I thought I best get something. Also got the magnum as a drop.

I was reading earlier that if all you got from the rank 5 IB package was a ghost, you may want to log in again with that character as you should get another drop. I've just logged straight out after opening the packages, I should have a couple of goodies waiting for me.

319 Hunter boots and a 314 Warlock bond. Hopefully a weapon later when I do the Titan.

I have had 3 machine guns drop, including the same void one within an hour of each other on the warlock. Will get the warlock to rank 5, then I am snapping the disc in half.

Rank 3.5, still got 2 weekly bounties to finish (should have picked up the 3 dailies before reset, but it was 3am and I was fucked, head wasnt working right).

I predict a 311 ghost and a 310 tickling stick await.

What an amazing promo video. Obviously taking cues from the Husky raid dance squad:

Incidentally, I have yet to pick up The Taken King. How awesome is it, and who wants to be my friend?

I've just started it a few days ago. Well, actually I've started a totally new character and am going through the year 1 content in order so I know what's going on in TTK. Let me know if you want to join up for the strikes, or form part of a virgin six-man team for the new raid :)

Apologies, I'm behind on Destiny - what's that awesome divebomb move at 6 seconds in that video? Want.

Thoroughly enjoyed my first Iron Banner too - over the course of the week I have developed from a truly diabolical crucible player (sorry for you guys who played with me on Tuesday/Wednesday - I really was bad) to a thoroughly poor to mediocre one (managed top on my team once, 2475 points in one match - that was annoying - and generally managed to end up mid table by Sunday night.

310 ghost and a 314 boots have boosted me up to 303 light which is heartening from the forever 299 - really need to raid to get higher I guess. The rest of the loot was a bit mediocre- I got no less than 4 vests too - (sadly max being 297).

The heavy bounties are easy with Bolt Caster , providing you manage to stay alive getting the drop the sneaky sneaky slash slash combined with the actually I have something akin to a rocket launcher even though I have sword gets the job done nicely.

Still not sure Ill be picking up Taken King (I said it half in jest!) but an offer for a new team raid is mightily tempting - hoping somewhere does it cheaper-than-RRP before Christmas so I can play over the holidays. I held off Year 2 because I thought that Bungie/Activision might try and sell season passes again for little content but it's looking increasingly likely this isn't the case, which pleases me.

Thanks for that matey... I was quite happy with my 310 ghost that dropped and put me up to 300 light finally, then logged out and in and got the IB hunter helmet at 316. I'm now 302 light!

Yes!

Roll on Xür!

Quick heads up - with the refer a friend thing you get 7 days grace, so if you know someone that's started recently get them quick :)

We did hard tonight and in about an hour got up to war priest. The tomb ship jumping was a bad as I thought it'd be. Fun fights (so far) without being too punishing. Only downside was no one got any loot from door chest :(

After swearing off IB this week I had some time tonight so took my Hunter from Rank 1 to Rank 5 in just over two hours, with a weekly bounty to spare, which was surprising.

For you guys with alts it must take about half that, if not less, depending on bounties. :)

Nothing of note dropped in the end game but as I only played about 15 matches, that's not surprising.

Got a 320 cloak from Rank 5, nothing to complain about but I'd have much preferred any armour at 310 or higher instead.

Roll on reset day so we can do it all again! :)

Did you play the year 1 DLC? I didn't so I've not done those strikes or Crota yet either.

Got to level 5 last night too. Ended up with a 310 shell and a 316 Nirwens Mercy. Which was nice. Takes me up to 308 :).

Hope the sunbreakers enjoyed their fun though; there's no way they aren't getting nerfed. Our fireteam won 12 on the spin last night, and our Sunbreaker was averaging around 4000 points a game.

Weekly Nightfall: The Sunless Cell with Berserk, Specialist, Chaff, and Fresh Troops. Berserk prevents enemies from flinching, Specialist gives a buff to special weapon damage, Chaff disables player radars, and Fresh Troops reinforces some squads with additional enemies.

That's last weeks. This weeks is Alak-hul.

EDIT: Ignore me.

This pretty much sums up my experience, I've been playing it very casually over the week mainly joining in with friends with no really goal in mind until I realised late last night completing one of the weeklys would push me to rank 5 which I ended up completing. After initial trepidation I've come to enjoy the 6vs6 format it has stopped me from being so passive in games. :)
