Ben - the exotics released now are still part of TTK so I don't understand you complaining they were shown in a trailer for TTK? Also, you seem annoyed they are being released over time rather than all available at the start but in your next paragraph you say it's about getting people to continue playing - would having all the content/items available on day 1 help or hinder that?

The exotics are being used as content, which is daft as they aren't. That's what I dont like about it. The December update seems to just be about Exotics and weapons re-balancing at present. I dont mind that they are being staggered release wise, but some guy got Twilight Garrison a few months back which means it should probably have been released back then, especially as Titans only have the one Y2 chest along with Hunters (the Tarantula Hunter chest was also found by some guy, yet its a bug? :huh:). Warlocks have 3 Y2 chests at the moment for example.

I dont mind the lack of content right now though as it means I can play Fallout 4, and sneak in some Halo 5 play now and then when I get the chance.

Just played IB for about an hour. Not one win. Consolation prize at least - 319 ghost shell.

The way its going though I wont be hitting rank 5 anytime soon with any other characters, regardless of how fast you get to rank 5, you still need wins to pull it off.

Ghost at 310 for my Iron Banner rank 5 reward. Shame as I really wanted the Titan helmet.

Got a decent drop on the Machine gun though (low level but decent perks) so it all balances out in the end.

Iron Banner rewards have been much, much better this time around. The packages are a good idea and I have seen more purples dropping this week too.

Wonder if they will try Rift next time. Seems a good team-based game type for Iron Banner.

310 Ghost for me too.

Got the chest armour 4 times so far on my hunter, and a shit roll on the machine gun that dropped. Might as well play the other classes now, the alt buff is incredible, got to nearly rank 3 with a few bounties earlier.

You should get a gun or piece of armour as well as the ghost out of the rank 5 package. I got the shotgun on Friday at 310, but I did get a 317 sniper on my hunter just now (I actually got some wins finally). Annoyingly it has low impact, especially as the perks are the same as the 1000 yard stare on the vendor (triple tap and mulligan). Infusion for my Black Spindle then.

Would have loved to have got the Titan helmet out of the rank 5 package. Will have to wait till its on the vendor I guess.

I play Trials because I enjoy it and not for the drops but I did let out a sigh at the end this week - in four weeks of Trials gold packages I've had a ghost and three artifacts.

Still though, we're getting better. Went 7-3 today. Trip to the lighthouse before Christmas is ON.

Mike knows the secret of how to make millions for only a few hours work at home each week, guaranteed. He can't reveal all his methods unless you enrol on his email correspondence course, but just as a taster here's one weird trick that makes Destiny players mad: Mike always has glowhoo in his inventory and rubs a three of coins on his thigh exactly three seconds before any drops are due.

According to ironbanner.info, if you are already rank 5 on one character, then (assuming you've just got the shader and emblem) then it takes around 11 matches today to get to rank 5 on an alt -that's assuming that you do the 3 daily bounties and 1 of the weeklies. That's about 2.5 hours play.

Iron Banner, what a great source of Strange coins. Just noticed I've accumulated 60 odd since Friday.

Got my Warlock to rank 5 in 12 games yesterday (took 35 on the Hunter), even played an extra match to save one of the weekly bounties for next time too. 7 games done on my Titan, only need to pop one weekly bounty and he's rank 5 as well, couple of games tonight and he'll be done. I've enjoyed Iron Banner, I don't play crucible apart from IB so it's good to do something different. Hope they change back to Control next time though, I'm not keen on Clash.

Rewards have been alright, about what I was expecting, everything available from the vendor has dropped (which I think was their intention) and I bought both vendor version weapons to avoid cashing weekly bounties for no marks. Something decent other than a ghost from the final rank 5 package tonight would be good though.

I'm a 288 and have hardly played since finishing the taken king story. Haven't done the raid and have so many quests I am overwhelmed.

What should I do to move up from 288, what's the fastest way to get good drops?

Do the quests.

Buy three of coins or gear from Xur on Friday 9am-Sunday 9am using strange coins (use them before you kill an 'ultra' e.g strike boss or other big bastard, it will show up as an exotic particles buff)

Do heroics

At 290+ light check the online->Destiny folder and organise/join a raid

Play with forum people

If you're feeling brave or want your experience ruined by vile internet children post on destinylfg.net and join some randoms

Play some crucible if that's your thing
