Technically you can already buy weapon parts, but it's very expensive. 2400 glimmer for a green gun, which equals just 1 weapon part (whether you level it or not).

You can buy an exotic gun from the kiosk for 4000 and shard that for 4-5, more if you level it (RL or MG is quickest). If you have access to Necrochasm then it already comes levelled from the Kiosk netting 7 or so. Better to wait for the patch next week though.

Weekly update confirms Gunsmith to sell weapon parts later this month. Bigger update next month, says Petra wants your Etheric Light and Eris loves Wormspore.

Not sure what's with the weird passive-aggressive tone in the weapon parts section. Can they not just admit they fucked up nerfing them in the first place?

Regarding looking at weapon tuning, it would be sooo Bungie to nerf Pulse Rifles soon in some way after selling that shit hot Iron Banner one that everyone bought.

Yup, all that the 20 shards do as far as I can tell is to add an extra item drop from Oryx, and that drop can be from anywhere in the table, including Oryx' own table (primary weapon/helmet). So if you do use 20 shards on him and only get one item - say, the hand cannon - what that means is you would have got nothing without the 20 shards.

The table may well be wrong anyway, but I've based it on the best available info I could find out there. It seems to hold up to most people's experiences. What isn't in there at all is drop rates - not sure anyone's carried out a decent survey of that, unlike in the VoG days when we had a decent estimate of % chance per drop.

Less useful/functional though. But aye, don't mention it.

Seems to have the same function to me. HM gives the same drop places at all stages as NM for armour/weapons. You should point out which exotic items are due to 3 of coins on yours though.

I'm not sure about that, LeChuck. Has anyone ever had 20 shards on Oryx and got no drops at all apart from more shards?

No exotic drops are 'due to' three of coins - the item merely increases the chance of a drop, it doesn't add the chance from nothing. So any drop that potentially gives an exotic item does so regardless. There's no need to mark which were 3 of coins drops - it adds nothing to the information, since we don't have % modifiers available. Nor do all the pictures add anything to the information: I prefer a compact table in which you can see all the data at a glance to a far bigger infographic with a load of distracting extras, hence making one. But you can always stick to the one you linked to if you like - I don't mind, honest.

If anyone has any actual corrections or extra info to put in the table that'd be great. Someone should start up a survey monkey or something to start working out %s. But then again, fuck it.

Yes, I've had just 2 shards from Oryx before.

It would remind people to use them as the chance of getting an exotic without them seems to be very very slim as I've never had one without it or seen anyone else get one. I'm sure its possible but anyone would be a fool not to pop a 3 of coins before those bosses if they have any.

Not sure why you are getting so upset about me pointing out I posted exactly the same information a day before you did either.

I'm not upset at all. It's you who is reposting the earlier version and arguing that it's somehow better, despite it taking up more space, including irrelevant information, and being in a format that's harder to read all at once. Odd really.

Yeah, I too have had 18 shards stolen from me as a reward for completing the raid.

It was confirmed by Luke Smith shortly after the raid launched that 2 X shards is part of the loot table and therefore has a chance at being the reward. He sounded unapologetic too which is a bit of a kicker.

I bought 2 engram from Xur and got 2x 310 bits, I then got an engram from 3oC and got another 310 - it was all going so well until I completed Shaxx bounties and got a 290 exotic set of arms.

Fucking RNG...

I also did the Last word stage of that quest, started mid 60% and gradually got into the 90% range before getting so much rage and therefore useless play I dropped back to 50% - I was a lie wolf but in a party chat and I apologise to everyone for the language but it just became a mission that I would do it today and fuck me I did!

Such was my disgust in using the gun and how bad a person it made me I forgot to record the moment that pretty much did the quest, Cauldron and sitting at B watching the other team get A - the doors open as I pop my super and the entire team just came through the doors, didn't get them all in the super but picked them all off and the jump in points was silly, couple of kills later and it was done.

Done, forever - almost enough to give up Destiny!
