You can do that now and generally get people who actually want to raid to do it with, have used LFG a fair bit over the year and always had a good experience - our raid team was one short to begin with and we recruited a top chap from LFG and now have people from here who jump in at the odd times I play - ever since I made the effort to Raid I have never had an issue getting a team together at any time of the day and have never had a bad experience of a raid.

Basically LFG has been amazing.

Matchmaking has been shit far more often than not and there is the issue, in content that can be solo'd matchmaking has proven to be sub par - why would it suddenly be better for content that does require team play??

Options, give people the tools and have the option to use them if they want to, how would this hurt you if you have a regular team?

People quit out of the start of a strike, implement the old halo thing where it prevents them from matchmaking for a while.

Matchmaking in a raid wouldnt affect you, so, you wouldnt have to use it.

And if bellends are a minority, matchmaking is a go, problem solved.

I did my first crota hard raid with 5 strangers, got everything i wanted on 2 completions, dont think i ever went back to it coz, I WANTED A FUCKING BLACK SPINDLE! !!

Yeah but the internet would explode with negative impressions and then I would come in here and say told you so and then we would all be arguing about it and not talking about the game - intact this thread would decend into the halo 5 + tomb raider threads as they are now :o

Basically Bungie would have to give everyone a Gjallathorn so that even the second xmas n00bs could get through the raid in a group of matchmade players not being on comms and not bothering to learn the mechanics but power through it.

It would, I would sit on my vita right now and be fucking useless but getting the loot - thats me and I'm really against the idea, imagine what people who really don't care would be like!

Why would you want to raid on a vita? Nice having that option of course, but would be fucking mental.

Ive done everything up to Kingsfall on the Vita, inc hard Crota and Atheon - long after doing them properly of course and I was competent enough that I was a better choice for my team than a random....

Ohh I never did Skolas but all the other levels, would never go back to Skolas even if it was 'fun'

Actually a good point, you can get comms going on the vita - that would put me better than 80% of people in the matchmaking for Raids if it was there....

But its not, so figures are being made up. If ps4 finds no comms, dont let them match make.

Ear bud plugged in, mute on - your plan scuppered.

Voice detected, naw, boot.

Simple as.... You can use external sources anyway, put in matchmaking for those that need to instead of hiding it all away from them.

Maybe that's raid challenge modes, matchmaking on individual stages... That would be sweeeeeeet. (which no one will agree on obviously).

We will never agree on this one!

Come join our raid team, mostly daytime if you're about!

To chip in a little here, any Ranked system in Destiny is long overdue. Admittedly, there is a system that allows you to leave positive and negative feedback on a player: Report. I have only used it - about one hundred time - to leave negative feedback though: perpetual red bars in Crucible and inactive in a Strike.

I'd like Bungie to emphasise positive feedback and attitude. At the end of any multiplayer mode, ask the player is any of his/her Fireteam members deserves positive recognition. Make it so that the player can leave feedback with two presses of a button to actively encourage players to make use of the system. Give the player the opportunity to check his/her Fireteam members before the event occurs.

fucking hell I seem to agree with everything on the forum today.

So I've now got a level 7 titan and I'm really quite enjoying things. I still think the actual shooting feels a bit off compared to Halo's crisp headshots, but it still feels pretty good and I have to say I like unlocking more gear.

Not so keen on the loading times, though, or having to go back to the Tower (what a bloody boring place) between missions for no reason other than to read a bit of text.

I think I'll almost definitely pick up the Legendary edition at some point.

I really hope they add vehicle encounters in year 3 or whatever.

Have to disagree with you on that one, Destiny has the best head shots in the business IMO.

With which weapons? I've been using pulse rifles and auto rifles and I don't like the scopes at all.

And the hand cannons feel decidedly puny.

What's patrolling all about then? Because it seems like it's about walking about the same area I've just spent the past hour or two in trying to find stuff and finding out that the world is in fact almost completely barren.

I'm on a weekend shift at work till May and I'd love to have a crack at KF normal whilst the kids are at school.

Could you let me know if you need anyone?

Cheers.

Another evening, another load of shit drops from Oryx & friends; forever 302, haha. ????

Got a 310 exotic helm from the big man in exchange for my 20 shards, which is something at least. Unfortunately my main helm is only 299 so I still need something in the middle before I can infuse it.

Better luck in Hard Mode tomorrow hopefully. :)

Right, first and foremost, I'll come out and say I was dead wrong about my "observations" of the hard mode. I'd practically written it off as pointless in the week after its release, but I'm more than happy to say it's still a really fun raid, just more challenging on hard. The group I was in tonight, after it "all going to fuck" at the totems for a bit, then nailed the Warpriest and Golgoroth first time (Big G enraged, but we got him). And then we didn't really have all that much trouble with the Daughters either. We didn't attempt Oryx, that's for when we're all just a little higher light. But we know it's feasible.

That being said, if ever I needed real proof that Bungie's smart loot system was utter bollocks, then tonight was it. Did the totems, got nothing. Did the Warpriest, got an Antiquated Rune. Did Golgoroth, got Gloves ... again, and lower light. Did the Daughters, got nothing.

Hey, Bungie!

Still love the game, but damn if it isn't a harsh mistress at times.

My traditional group have all but given up on the game due to the hard KF, it's a fucking ballache.

Big thanks to Mikey and co for inviting me to their raid. Despite the fact I am not a fan, I did end up with a shedload of loot.

300 ghost, 304 shotgun, 303 Titan mark, exotic helmet and gauntlet engram. We only got up to Oryx, and another big thank you to Rambo for carrying everyone through.

It turns out Touch of Malice is hilarious on the latter parts of the raid. "So I just pump the trigger as fast as I can for big numbers? Okay then.". Did try No Time To Explain one time on Golgoroth. As I have no Black Spindle I don't know if that does more damage than a normal sniper or not. Still had a good time, even got the last few calcified fragments I was missing.

Raid with LeChuck and co was good. Loot drops a go go for me - 2 ghosts out of the totems chest (304 and a 315!), which is a first for my titan ever getting any ghosts in the first place. 315 machine gun from war-priest, as well as a 310 exotic. Also got a 315 towel for my Titan from the twins.

I'm sure Gorf will be in soon to tell me I'm not allowed to complain ever about drops in the raid from now on (and rightly so really) :)

It is odd though that the game has literally been throwing ghosts at me the past week or two after having none for so long (got a ghost from nightfall this week, multiples from the raid last week (on alts, never on the titan before tonight), as well as the trials ghost on my hunter over the weekend).

Depends on the scope - there are some very nice pulse rifle ones but you'll have to progress a fair bit further to get hold of them.

For me Destiny has some of the finest shooting I've ever experienced in a game - its that plus the loot that makes it so damned compulsive although there is some fantastic level design in some of the later (TTK) story stuff and strikes. And then theres the raids...

Patrolling is basically for farming stuff and shooting things really - it has its uses and occasionally diverting but generally its for clearing bounties and the various quest lines require you to do certain things when there - its not really a mode you play for its own sake.

No special mention for me watching your backs at Golgoroth I notice, for shame.

i have that problem mecha. i was starting to worry because I also type a lot for work. so after a long day at work and a big raid session my trigger finger was really suffering. I recently bought a modded pad but has yet to arrive so can't recommend it yet. but I try to never use high rate of fire low impact weapons. i always use high impact. put no time to explain away and pick the fwc pulse rifle or reath death.
