anybody got an Oryx checkpoint on normal that I can nab tonight? I just need to beat Oryx to get my 310 artifact. I know there's a few others that need it as well. Either that or get together tonight for an alt run, and then i'll swap characters when we get to Oryx.

I've got one, however I'm about to dismantle my home office to decorate (where my ps4 is connected up), are you around now?

You can get 320 (specifically, 310-320 drops) from the HM raid, which you don't have to be 310 to do part, or even all, of. Though obviously it'll be a lot harder to do the last part(s) if you're under 310 - but you can get (and I have got) drops at over 310 on the earlier stages whatever your level.

I checked, if you are 311+ you will always get 310+ drops from HM rewards if not you are getting anything from 300-320

That seems a bit harsh for people who have not had RNJesus on their side and got to 310 if that's the case. And as Gorf said, he cant actually get to 310 due to the drops being so cack. I'll be surprised if I can, given the ghost situation too.

Edit: Does that mean if your 310 you get 310 only drops on normal mode too?

I don't think it works like that, I've been below 310 for a number of HM runs and all my harrowed gear is always 310 and above. The 300-310 drops are the normal mode ones, and I've not heard anyone with a harrowed weapon/armour < 310. Being 311 light only makes a difference for exotics.

Got a 320 ghost on Tuesday when I was 309.

Harsh at the moment for sure, when we get 320-330 exotics not so much - as Gorf says they are just trying to give legs to your light level by artificial means at the moment.

You always get 310+ for HM drops regardless of level. You get a double drop though - the first part is >310, regardless of level. That's as far as I can work it out.

I have completed about two raids on normal. Thanks to 3oC being kind, and a lucky night fall 303 ghost drop I can get up to about 305. The problem is with work being all over the place I don't have regular raid group. I tried to form one, but this place apparently doesn't have capacity to sustain another. So aside from hard mode raid and the multiplayer stuff I have no intention of playing, why should I bother trying to get it over 310.

The raid loot is just a means to get closer to 300/310/320. Is any of it actually worth it aside from the light level? Armour you can argue was same before TTK, extra perks only useful during raid and for the level. At least previously the weapons were different, exciting. I hate sniping but I could respect Pradeyth's sniper. Why should I be fussed if I don't get the KF raid sniper? It is a numbers game at this point.

The only exciting thing about Destiny for me right now are the new weapons we haven't seen yet. No Time To Explain is an interesting weapon, I want to try and get it and mess around with it. I would want the raid hand cannon only so I could feed it to Hung Jury - the weapon isn't exciting so I only want it for the numbers.

The raid is end game content. It is tremendous fun the few times I have been on it. Ultimately you do the raid for loot. The loot is mostly shit. I don't even remember seeing many people get any exotics out of it, like I did on VoG/Crota (that one may be down to not running it enough).

If Osiris is running tomorrow I will be interested in what the loot is like. Both for how interesting it is and what the light level is. I mean if a perfect run doesn't grant you 310+ stuff then raid is still be all and end all for gear. Which would be terrible as 1) loot isn't good 2) would defeat original point of Osiris where you can get raid level stuff.

Last paragraph entirely pissing in the wind at this point mind.

I think its been datamined that Osiris purchasable loot is 280, and I'm guessing the drops will be random based on your light level. But considering Iron Banner drops were terrible (bugged? Yeah right...) I'm not holding my breath.

Oh, I forgot. On the subject of Trials, its probably going to be a mess because the Tether glitch has not been fixed.

This guy posted the video showing it in PvE a week or so ago, and tried to contact bungie apparently (not sure if that's true or not), but it hasn't been fixed.

I should rephrase, anyone willing to carry me!

you'll be fine. at normal light level is not really an issue. it's mostly about skill and team work. unless you suck. in which case you will have to be carried regardless of your light level.

could it be that the raid loot system has a bias based on the role you played. for example a ghost for the person with the least light level or boots for the person doing the jumping. the first time i did the jumping bit I got the boots which i had not had in 4 previous runs on a different role. has anyone felt this?
