No elemental primaries means my interest in the hard raid has really dropped. I'll give it a fair shot, and I do want to get it done at least once. But why bother with repeat plays, just for an a extra 10 or so to your light level?

If you're playing without enjoyment just to get a higher number then I would probably do something else...

I'm glad there are no elemental primaries. You won't have 90% of people running around with the same thing and it gives you the opportunity to switch guns around to stop things becoming stale.

Yeah. I think the way elemental primaries limit the loot pool is more of a designer's problem than a player's, but I do like the feeling of needing to switch to a secondary or heavy when the big boys arrive. Feels appropriate.

Again it's about encounter design. You needed elemental primaries in year one when they'd throw half a dozen shielded things at you at once but that doesn't really happen too much anymore.

I'm not, I'm really enjoying it, but the hard raid appears to be significant effort for somewhat little reward. Also, unless their stats are massively different, the raid weapons are mostly shite. Yes, you can use them to infuse into your favourite weapons, but that's beside the point. The raid weapons and armour should be great rewards. They're not.

Sounds like great rewards or would you prefer a shit gun with arc burn?

The weapons and armour have the same stats in case you didn't know. They just look slightly different.

I still think releasing the hard raid now was a mistake, and they should have waited a few more weeks. A fair amount of people still dont have some of the stuff dropping from normal due to piss poor rng in the raid.

*cough* Ghost for instance *cough*

It's an intentional move away from the year one model where the raid gear was far and away the best stuff you could get. I think the raid weapons have been designed to be used in the raid, and that's that. I think it makes a certain amount of sense. I agree it's a little deflating not to have a Fatebringer or Vision to hope for every week, but playing the raid is a reward in itself and high-level infusion fodder is the icing on the cake. My Raze Lighter is now 314 attack, and while that may not make that much difference in Banner or Trials it sure feels nice knowing it has a higher rating than the previous maximum. Oryx might drop a disappointing gun with a rubbish roll, but the infusion system means that it at least has the potential to be useable despite that. Seems ok to me.

Rock and a hard place isn't it, elemental burns made everything in year one easy and no-one used any gun past the first raid drops due to this, nightfalls are easy now due to check points and having burn would make them even easier.

Giving 310+ drops is the good reward, you find your fave gun in the game and infuse it - maybe it is a raid gun but maybe not, year 2 has been great because people run around with different guns and armour and even after the raid its not all same with everyone in the tower in identical gear with identical guns.

If you had some amazing gun from the raid with burn you would be whinging there is no point in playing the game anyway as nothing to do or offer a challenge so how do they please you?

I'm hearing stories of 310 guns/armour dropping in hard mode, which if true, seems as stupid as light 300 dropping in normal. Luke Smith did say he would look into that, but it seems he didn't, or forgot or something.

I saw in a fred that you only get 310+ guns guaranteed if you are 310+ doing the raid - apparently you can still get 310+ drops if under but its RNG...

310 as a hard mode drop? Or the normal one? See a lot of people not understanding that you're not getting a double drop on hard mode, you're getting the hard drop and the normal drop (which could also roll you nothing). I got a 300 shotgun last night and it took me a sec to work out what was going on - obviously in the old days everything dropped at the same level regardless of difficulty, it was just a double drop on hard. Doesn't work like that anymore.

Like I said, "sounds like"; I haven't played the hard raid yet. Perhaps there's an extra mechanic I'm unaware of that, while perhaps being more difficult, is really fun once you get the hang of it (which perfectly describes all of King's Fall on normal). What I've heard most though, is the game spamming exploding enemies at Golgoroth. That doesn't sound like what I just described. It sounds like a really frustrating ballache.

I heard Man U beat Man City tomorrow, guess I won't know until I watch the game tho...

Ha, what? There are more cursed for the guy on adds duty to shoot, yes. It's still perfectly manageable, we had two of us cycling supers on them last night and did just fine. They're by no means the hard bit of the fight, that's the taunters having more orbs to deal with and the DPS team having to watch for the debuff. The whole thing is mechanics, just like normal mode.
