Destiny: FIN

I think we can all agree that:

  • Thorn needed to be nerfed;
  • Vault space was not enough;
  • Vault of Glass was better than Crota's End;
  • Xur is (and forever will be) a cunt;
  • Weavus saves;
  • Berties should run the sword;
  • Lyrical and Ben like Destiny;
  • Gorf is not from Whitby;
  • Fun is mandated;
  • Jerec's wife will not allow him to miss dinner;
  • Hunters are bad people.

Rasputin's dialogue in the Fallen Saber strike have been translated - http://rebrn.com/re/rasputins-dialogue-lines-in-fallen-saber-translated-919983/

Nothing amazing, but thought it was kind of cool.

Speaking of that strike the end dialogue is kinda funny sometimes when Nolanbot goes on about the size of the Shank.

Also, I got my 2nd Touch of Malice last night on my Hunter. If nothing else its an infusion. I definitely WONT be getting a 3rd one though methinks.

Maybe, certainly used to be Blade Dancers.

I can think of no other experience in gaming which can compared to disintegrating a blade dancer with lighting (and his nearby buddies for getting involved). Except maybe this:

Don't get me started again on those fucking Sunbreakers. Some may find this the funniest shit they'll read this week ( ;)), but I stand by my comment that Sunbreakers just have to throw a hammer in your general direction for an instakill.

Nope, that's still bollocks. It's an instakill if you just stand still and look at the Titan, yes. Move. Preferably with the jump button.

So I guess we haven't agreed on everything. But the thread remains worthwhile me thinks. We shouldn't give up after only 1000 pages.

The hammer creates sunspots. He was probably using your radar. If you were using your ears you probably heard the big audio cue when the super popped. They can be shut down instantly anyway.

But yeah, nerf it. Bungie obviously haven't tested their game. Stupid cunts.

I don't think Bungie should nerf it. I think they should just rejig Golden Gun to bring it up to parity - say, up to 7 shots, plus activating GG gives you instantly-replenishing armour that takes 2 hammers to break. That should do it.

Or wouldn't that make the game more balanced?

All supers are too powerful (especially when I get killed by them). I'd like to see most crucible modes without them and just have guns/grenades/melees, especially now that we have mayhem for super related fun.

(To Minty) Yeah, it was a bit of a ballache getting all the fragments again with nothing but my memory as a guide due to every online guide being account based rather than character.

On the PvP front, I played Gunslinger/Bladedancer the past few days and I now know what everyone is talking about after playing Mayhem Clash and getting literally "hammered" (hoho) by Sunbreakers in pretty much every match.

Most games would go like this - I'd activate my super, then I'd be lucky to get 1 or 2 kills before a Sunbreaker would instakill me. They do need a damage resistance nerf, as they can take more damage than other classes supers before dying which is clearly stupid.

Here is an excellent video I found of this in action (from 1:25 or so):

However! This does not mean the entire subclass is OP and is overused, as this date should show (it actually shows Sunbreakers aren't as common as people think) - http://destinytracker.com/destiny/population

Clearly what needs to happen is a damage resist type nerf. Sunbreakers should not be able to take a headshot from a high impact sniper when every other super can not.

The only other problem with Sunbreakers is that they dont seem to have to aim when specced for the homing hammers. This makes it a bit unfair to Gunslingers actually, who have to at least aim at the person to use their super. But this is another problem entirely, and one mostly related to balancing the old subclasses with the new.

Oh, and how to 1 shot a Sunbreaker with 1 shot of Golden Gun? - Spec for Combustion, and possibly Keyhole (not sure whether its just 1 of these talents or both that allowed me to do it). I specced this purely for Mayhem Clash, as the super comes up enough anyway, and found I was killing Sunbreakers in their super in 1 shot every time.

Oh and I main a Titan, as most here already know, so yeah, I'm asking for a slight nerf. Just thought I'd mention that.

Trust me you need to aim as much as you do for a golden gun shot, you just get 6 or so shots instead of 3. Hammers also have travel time and can be shot, so unless you are in the same room as the sunbreaker they can be avoided if you are aware one is coming your way.

I'd certainly like to see at least one no-super variant, just to have a PvP activity that relies on shooting action only (which pure shooteriness I'd be crap at - which is why I'd like the variant to be objective-based, like a variant of Control). I wouldn't want to take them out of the main PvP activities per se, though.
