It's essentially downloading the full game. At least that's how I understood it. Makes it easier when you inevitably press that "Buy now" button.

Sure.. but why it didn't download that like the previous 15gig I dunno. Expectation was (thank to everything else I've downloaded on the PS4) it'd be ready once that initial download was finished. Having this additional download (which even has a controller removed warning!!) within the game is a bit disappointing! I was hoping to be up and running by now! Kinda scuppered my plans for the evening is all.

I literally have no idea what's coming. I know it's like Halo but with loot and classes/powers. I know it isn't quite how they originally planned. But keen to see what people are finding so compelling.

Multiplayer. That is what most of us find compelling about Destiny. As a (single play through) story driven single player game Destiny is not worthy of shelf space in Poundland.

getting to what people find compelling takes a little while. think of the install as a tutorial of sorts in that way. but what's compelling about it, is extremely compelling. raiding is where this becomes clear. also what kansa said.

Well for what it's worth Dood, I'm in exactly the same situation as you. I'd avoided the game, I guess is the best way to describe it, up until reading that Kotaku article and hearing from several people how improved it was since TKK. Reading that the Diablo 3 RoS Game Director was involved in helping the team with TKK convinced me I should give the game a fair shot, as I utterly adored how he turned Diablo 3 around.

After getting up to level 5 with a Hunter in the demo/trial I'm completely sold. The best way I can describe it is Halo: Combat Evolved - RPG Edition. It just plays so incredibly well.

My download on Xbox One did a similar thing too. Said ready to play at around 15% downloaded, then when I booted it it downloaded A LOT more. I pretty much just left it for half the day downloading. 100% worth it though.

My god, so many drops tonight. Started off with the First Curse, got my 5 arms day guns, hit rank 6 with the gunsmith and got my 3rd hawksaw of the week. Daily crucible, I got Red Spectre. Ran the exotic sword mission with moose and fin and we all got our new Swords. Postmaster was full when I got back, 2 legendary boot engrams and an exotic chest among it all.

Nice loot for a change!

For anyone else doing that part of the exotic sword quest - get the revelant ghost, ADS with sniper to show the nodes in your instance, then move to another instance and do the same, then go back to the previous one. Far less painful

Someone on reddit also said that when you move into a new instance there is a symbol similar to the 'high value target' symbol that indicates whether there is a node with the special resource there - no idea if thats true though useful if it is

Oh god, there's no way I could have done the exotic farming bit without the ghost help, I was on the verge of insanity by the end of as it was, if I actually had to seek out the mats too...christ. Clearly that's what those ghosts were made for.

I have my spinmetal and relic iron ghosts waiting in the wings for whenever I've finished farming all the hadium flakes for the other swords

The 3 high value target on each planet quest has been stalled for me due to the massive amount of grinding patrols to get it...

Well I managed about twenty minutes on this in the end last night. Despite struggling to adjust to the framerate after mgs V, I really quite enjoyed it! The shooting was mega satisfying, even just against rubbish enemies.

Certainly seems like it might offer a decent distraction until the next big thing! Will see how I get on with the rest of the demo.
