Bought the exotic gauntlet engram because I thought it would drop at 310 (since I am now over 300). Got 290 gloves. Then did a strike and got an exotic gauntlet engram which decoded into 310 gloves. For a Titan.

There isn't any matchmaking for the missions, just the strikes and the lowest level Prison of Elders.

Ah, thanks. Side effect of how I'd exclusively played (just tagging along with my brother in law on whatever missions he chose) I guess. Thanks for the info.

Sleeper simulacra is a fecking beast. I used it onnce, and impulse ascended it to 293.

Yep, randomhammed won't give me owt above 293 in the heavy slot. And nothing above 295 in primary. On ps4 anyway...

I've found the Court of Oryx to be the best bet for blues in the 290's. I had a 299 shotgun from there the other day and have a bunch of 296+ heavies. Am now stuck at 299 though.

one raid run will fix that.

Tried to solo the first part of the Sleeper Mission, got to the 'boss' and got swamped - will be giving it a go again tonight so if you see that I'm in there and want to hero on in then be my guest...tho I expect if I just run and hide more it should be pretty doable.

It has matchmaking doesn't it? How did do it one your own?

Hmm, I thought this 310 business was guaranteed :(

you go into the Russian Super Computer's brain and have to survive against all the knights and Taken

No that doesn't have matchmaking, I think Krypt thought you were on about the strike you have to do at the end. I think it would be pretty bloody difficult to solo. I did it with another person (which incidentally was Krypt's suggestion I think).

I'm looking forward to this change, I use shot package on my matador and it does have crazy range on it. I have a feeling a lot more people will start to run the chaperone - that thing seems pretty beastly and without shot package. At least it forces you to use up your exotic slot although a lot of the legendary primary weapons are just as competitive as exotics now so its not as much of an issue.

My example

I got a 290 crest of alhpa loopy from a random drop... 290.

Used 3 of coins, got the same thing, 310.

Then used coins again... 310 helm of saint.

So, from my experience, its either totally random... Or its 310 fae coins. (thats how it looks from my perspective just now, but i havent done many 3 of coins this week).

All my 310s have been from 3 of coins.

Want some 310 weapons though.

I waited at the top of the stairs across from the terminal and just funnelled them into my Super Zhalo or Shotty.

That was on my second attempt mind.

Struggling with the race to the top bit at the moment, though I was very tired the other day when I tried it.

The stairs are your friend. As is running in circles around the room to get the health back up.

I was a Stormcalling Warlock with Zhalo SC and an Arc Shotgun, Arc damage is key.

I did it solo first go, if I can anyone can.

What level were you at when you were getting those kind of drops?

I'm stuck at 293. I make sure I'm at max level when I decrypt the engrams but does it make a difference what level you are running when the engrams drop?

Edit: @Bonzai

Nah, it's just another element of rngesus/randomohammed. I've had two Hawkmoons from three of coins, one at 310, then a second at 290.

I got a 310 Last Word from the second secret chest in the King's Fall raid.

Not done enough 3oc'ing since hitting 300 to decide... Bladdy rome got in the way.

Haven't been that lucky with drops there so far. What light level was your character when you did court?

Imprecation Quest, or the Rank 5 with the Gunsmith quest for The First Curse:

I hit this last night after getting the Sleeper Simulant and started it.

A guy on reddit hit Rank 5 last week and completed the first couple of parts, it's not as bad as I first thought:

1 - 250 kills with a hand cannon whilst a telemetry is active

2 - Hand in to Gunsmith and wait til next Armsday when he will give you a 200 attack White Hand Cannon called "Imprecation", you infuse this up to unlock a perk (he did it to 260, dunno what the minimum is) and then it says to go on killing sprees with it. But, the spree (kills without dying) is done in PvE, you only have to get 7 precision kills in one crucible match to complete the last bit, doesn't have to be in one life.

3 - Wait for next armsday when you will get the First Curse.

Might actually get this after all.

Jade Rabbit is a fucking pile-driver of a gun, especially when you unlock the perk that gives you eleven rounds in the mag, rather than seven. I guess you're kind of doing it wrong if you're not trying to refill the mag through precision shots, but it works pretty well even if you treat it as a normal rifle.

Ruin Wake is another gun that's rocking my world: a machine gun with an AR-sized clip, but pretty much zero recoil. You can just aim at a distant target, hold down the trigger, and the crosshair will barely move. It's really handy for wizards in the new raid.

What I would derived from my experience with this is that decryption of xur engrams are locked at 290 and dropped engrams are locked at 310 (if you are above 300 when you take the engram to rahool). But it might as well be... well..... random!

dude what' the best way to get 10 scouts to dismantle? what a ball-ache.

also, what's the best way to get 50 new shard thingys.

You don't actualy need to dismantle 10 - you just need to get 10 weapon parts from dismantling them. I did it by dismantling 2 of my old levelled up legendary scout rifles, easy peasy :)

As for the 50 shards (I'm guessing you mean the hadium flake things), you can either patrol the mausoleum on the dreadnaught as chests seem to respawn fairly sharpish there or have a roll of the RNG and level up Eris by doing tonnes of Court of Oryx. Occasionally Eris gives out stacks of 10+ flakes in her reward packages.

I've used the Court to inch my light upwards quite a lot. Even soloing Tier 2 ones if I'm feeling cocky. I got a 299 ghost when I was low 290's which was a welcome boost to my vanguard purchased one. I would have been 295/6 whilst in the Court when I got the 299 shotgun. Don't know for sure if your level light matters when they drop, but it certainly feels like it.

Xur.

Seriously?

An Insurmountable Skullfort

Knucklehead Radar

Claws of Ahamkara

Gauntlet Engram

Heavy Legacy Engram

Accidental touch screen neg, sorry about that Bertie, talk about shooting the messenger. Three of coins it is, a heavy weapon engram... Maybe.

Yeah I was about to say that, the Ace of Spades version needed 10 parts from Hand Cannons and each Legendary I dismantled gave me 5 parts.

As for Hadium Flakes, best way to get them is to be a Nightstalker Hunter with Keen Scout on, or take one with you when you go looking for them!
