Destiny: FIN

You can fill one slot per day by defeating the wave of taken that appear when you stand in the ball of taken light/energy in the Dreadnaught. If you've done it already today, you can't complete it til tomorrow.

Once it's fully charged you activate it from a terminal in the founts and take on all 7 bosses and a champion, so you'll maybe need a 3 man fireteam for that bit.

Before its fully charged you can pass it from each of your characters to net 3 charges in one day. Also if somebody has one charged you can assist them in the final battle down by the founts & fully charge one irrespective if you don't have any charges on yours as you fight eight enemies who offer up a charge per kill.

That didn't work last night, I went from 1 to 6 charges though, so I'll finish it off today.

So Tess is back in the Tower next week, as is the new Everess Trading Company;

http://www.vg247.com/2015/10/06/destiny-microtransaction-store-opens-next-week-sells-emotes/

Now featuring microtransactions to buy those emotes you've always wanted

I'm OK with this. As long as it's only ever the cosmetics, obv. Extra shaders even. I'm astonished, given today's gaming market, and given the presumably high running costs of Destiny, that they haven't done this earlier.

Game has sold really well as has all DLC released, although priced above market prices. I am not surprised they didn't want to introduce anything to further contribute to negative customer sentiment which had built over time (e.g. PS exclusive content, red bull, etc.). If you think about it, now is the perfect time for this. Positive customer perception of the game is at an all time high. In addition, they've gathered data on how much customers actually want new emotes with the sale of the legendary edition and separate digital pack. I for one voted with my wallet (and purchased the extra dances), I voted for dancing! :hat: you're welcome.

I'm assuming they're going to add proper d-pad assignments, because only being able to replace 'Point' (which is actually useful) is not the answer.

holy shit! I could equip all the dances! I have started looking for things I can sell around the house.

Yep, I'm okay with the micro-transactions stuff too. They've stated categorically that it will only be cosmetic stuff so don't see the harm. Anyway, the amount of money Destiny has saved me buying other games, a couple of quid on emotes really isn't an issue.

On a different topic than dancing, Court of Oryx. It's not all that, really, is it? Like, first you need to be luck to find an instance with others in it. Then you need to hope they know what they're doing (Don't just keep slowly killing one Wizard at a time! Don't take out all the Cursed Thrall as soon as you see them! You do actually need to get the two Knights near each other!)

Then you need to hope they hang around until you got the Antiquated Rune charged. It's a bit frustrating.

And the rewards don't seem all that, either. I got a decent Artifact from Eris for her questline, but that's about it, really. Now I need to go and do her new quest. Hunger Pangs.

I think the idea was better than the implementation. If you think about it as an activity you go and do in a fireteam it does not work very well. But if the idea was that you are patrolling and find yourself in an area with a bunch of people and someone decides to trigger a public event where everyone can participate if they want, the idea is wicked. This should be an ad-hoc activity and not something that people go grind for hours in a fireteam. The issues I see is that the area is too small, it gives too much loot (making a target for grinding ala loot cave) and the instance does not work well often enough in pairing you with other randoms.

lol at the Nightfall.

Have to admit, I just ignore the Nightfall now - the risk (or grind)/reward ratio seems a bit out of whack compared to the rest of the game. There's enough else to do that's more fun, and which potentially gives at least as good a reward, to bother spending time on it really.

I'm not a big fan of microtransations and add-ons on top of add-ons at all; I haven't spent £20 on the three extra emotes, for example. But I'm not against it altogether - if it's cosmetic stuff and you want to, fine, go for it (as long as that doesn't mean the in-game shaders, emblems etc dwindle away to next to nothing, which I suspect they might, this being my main 'thin end of the wedge' objection).

However, I would probably pay good money for the You've Fucked Up The Raid emote (a.k.a. 'Stick To The Plan'):

:quote:

And I'd probably use it every day. (Well... one day a week. <_< )

I've hit a wall with this due to the lack of fireteam...I can feel the dark shadow slowly lifting from me...weird that they release their best content yet, but now I can't be arsed to play. Maybe its the Dreadnaught being so big and lonely a space, doesn't really make me want to wander around in there every night.

What's the reason you don't have a Fireteam, there's tens of people from here on every night, there's loads of threads in Online about doing the raid, etc.

I doubt you'd have trouble finding people to play with? ????

The NF was very interesting without a radar, took me a couple of mins to remember where I needed to go from the start! The shield modifier was also meant you needed someone with solar and someone with void, don't think anyone has any arc shields in the strike. Got absolutely bugger all rewards for it apart from the dead orbit chest which I already have 6 of.

I wish they'd make the NF relevant again. I really like playing strikes with lots of modifiers so you have to change your approach.

Yeah, that was rough. Don't know if you noticed me idle whilst dealing with the postman ( I didn't kill him, just had a parcel) halfway through.

I got an antiquated rune, even after popping yet another three of coins.

Still fun to run the NF though. I do enjoy the modifiers fucking things up but yeah, an exotic would have been nice. I am but a simple man.

Managed to get my Jolly Holliday quest back up to 26% last night thanks to careful use of my new favourite heavy weapon:

Three in the chamber, and dat blast radius.

I've got an Ash Factory with very similar perks, it's pretty tasty.

Add me (PSN is Punkmoon) and feel free to throw me an invite whenever. I'm mostly playing solo myself so some company would be nice for strikes etc.

Nightfall wasn't anywhere near as bad as I was expecting. Same amount of shielded enemies (I was expecting all the Psions to have void ones, like Niighfalls of old). Less majors too. 310 Fourth Horseman on Warlock and 12 Strange Coins on my Hunter. Woo.

I didn't see any Void shields at all. Just one Taken Centurion with Arc and Centurions with Solar.

I know most people are already booked up for later starts, but does anyone fancy doing a raid for tonight, and tomorrow starting from 8pm? There is already a thread under online but I don't want to steal those fine gentlemen's thunder. Unless those guys need an extra body.

Plus already named my thread in the online folder as being on the weekend, so posting there will just confused everyone.

Especially that Siri guy. That guy's a dick.
