Destiny: FIN

For the ogre with shields you need to take his shield down by using cursed thrall explosions next to him.

For the 2 knights you have to get them close together and their shields drop when in a certain range.

And for the centurion, you've got to clear the adds first.

For each boss it tells you exactly what to do on screen.

Cheers

I was gonna buy the Helm of Saint-14 this morning with my legendary marks but didn't bother. Got it in a drop this evening, so thats nice. Also got Telesto as well which is pretty damn good so far and I usually hate fusion rifles. Got up to the second last boss in the raid but had to call it a night because it was about half 1 and everyone was getting tired and making mistakes. Got the raid fusion rifle and boots so far.

Man those Immolation Fists are way OP in Mayhem Clash

I dunno if the reloader perks are random when you buy it or not, but the ones I had were things I wanted in Year 1 on every gloves on every character - Handcannons and Shotguns.

Also, apparently Luke Smith is looking into Ghost drops, or the lack thereof in the raid/in general I think, according to this post on NeoGaf. Also the raid armour being 300 sometimes, instead of 300+.

Ghost slot concerns me, too. I'll dig into it when I'm back at the office.

This is my main gripe with the loot system at present, as I still have not got a ghost above 286, so if this is looked into that would be great.

That's a great looking cloak, yeeeesssssss?

Was reading reddit last night and it seems people have stumbled onto some amazing lore.

Oryx isn't dead, he is Touch of Malice.

Edit: credit to u/mattfush

Edit 2: Verse 5:9 isn't in the Book: http://destiny-grimoire.info/#Card-700670

Oryx is still alive -- he's in the touch of malice...

Books of Sorrow, verse 5:9 -- That is all.

Here's an excerpt -- "So I will prepare a book, which is a map to a weapon. And my vanquisher will read that book, seeking the weapon, and they will come to understand me, where I have been and where I was going. And then they will take up my weapon, and they will use it, they will use that weapon, which is all that I am.

And armed thus with my past, and my future, and my present (which is a weapon, a weapon that takes whatever is available, a weapon bound to malice), they will mantle me, Oryx, the Taken King.

They will become me and I will become them, each of us defeating the other, correcting the other, alloying ourselves into one omnipotent philosophy. Thus I will live forever.

I’ll make sure."

The speculation is that the Ravenous Heart is either Oryx or his worm and although I don't have ToM to test it myself, when you get down to the last shot, the one that hurts you, the weapon starts whispering to you.

Where does this leave Eris, seeing as she helped forge the weapon for you. Unwilling dupe or something else...

From the Taniks strike through Vanguard Heroic. The drop is random and there are other strike specific rewards. I also have the Psion Flayers cloak but it's horrible.

As I understand you don't even need to to do the Heroic version to get the strike specific rewards!

So much new content and quest lines to do I've not really had a chance to do many strikes outside of the story line/quests - work and other life stuff is properly getting in the way of Destiny at the moment!!!!

They have strike specific weapon drops too.

Taniks drops an autorifle called Does Not Bow which looks a bit tasty

There's a Fatebringeresque thing called Imago Loop which also only drops from a specific strike, forgotten which one.

I got Imago Loop yesterday It can have any number of perks so you have to get a lucky roll for it to be similar to Fatebringer. I didn't so I just dismantled it.

Damn that Last Word quest is a bitch, went 19% after the first match and ended the night on 0%.

Tell me theres fun stuff to do after this bit?

Rest is easy compared to the first part.

I only have 3 (2 come next Tuesday) quests on my Titan now, and 2 of those are in the raid. I guess the quests have dried up for now.

You can do the rest relatively quickly, the second crucible part is much easier. There is waiting for the reset at the end but that first part is just uuuuhhhhh.

I started that yesterday and swung from 20 to 30% numerous times and ended up on 30 odd. It's massively painful though

Not sure if its accurate or not, but the following might be worth a try. I keep getting 260/270/280 drops, and barely, if ever, get a 290+ drop now I'm in the high 290's, so it might actually be correct.

The decrypting engrams at 280 light or whatever and getting better items than when you're sitting in the 290s is a way bigger problem with the way the rolling of stats works. It's like when you're lower than 290 more stuff decrypts so it can boost your light level up to 290

This specific comment is taken from Neogaf but I've seen a few complaints like this in various places online, so thought I'd mention it.

Edit: Reddit is, or was, trying to do a survey on this of Guardians submitting their decryptions. Seems like there is something in it.

I think that's probably true and it seems fair enough. They want as many people to be powerful enough to take on the raid as possible, but need the raid to mean something, so you'll mostly need raid drops to hit the cap. The odd 300-plus blue is an occasional bonus, like a purple decrypting to an exotic or something.

Does anyone know whether it's been confirmed that infusing fully-levelled gear lets you keep more of the item's value? I've tried it a couple of times with maxed-out kit, and it seemed like I got the full light level. IIRC, I went from 280 to 287 by infusing an item at 287 light.

As an idea, the concept of blues tailoring off in relevance at 290+ is good. However, if the system can be gamed by reducing your light level deliberately to get better rewards, then that is silly.

I think Bungie messed up by having engrams decrypt based on your current light level rather then your maximum attained light level (which would be an easy stat to track).

The same happens in crucible. Year 1 weapons (the best ones at least) are better than the Year 2 ones. But if you equip your best Year 1 guns your light level will be low and you'll get rewards at around that low light level. So while light level doesn't affect crucible damage, it does affect crucible rewards. Surely that's a mistake.

Past two days i've switched over to decrypting all my engrams* on my secondary builds who are both 295, as opposed to my 305 main. The result is i've had A LOT more 295+ pieces. So yeah, there's some truth to dropping down a few levels before visiting Rahool.

Blues that're 300+ seem to be rare as rocking-horse shit, so fair play to anyone who got lucky.

* Exotics aside.

There's no proof that it works 100% of the time. And every test i've tried actually disproves that theory. Its RNG like everything else in the game - sometimes you get lucky.
