All I've had is some worm spore and 2 shards I think out of 2 chests. Getting 20+ of those requires quite a bit of farming it seems.

Must be luck but I got 9 now and we've only done the first boss. I should have 20 by Oryx later this week (if all goes well).

I now have 20 Mouldering Shards. Got the shotgun from the raid last night (not a great roll stat or perk wise). Really hoping to finish tonight and hopefully get some decent armour and/or weapons. Its not been a great run loot-wise for me so far. One more boss to kill...

So are the fights more tactics based later on? I've been doing some (normal) Strikes and the fights seem to be frantic messes.

In contrasts to the story missions (I didn't realise how many would open up post Regicide) where combat (for me) is about popping in and out of cover, position, scout rifle head shots the co-op is a bit more......unstructured :P

e.g. I'll be lining up a headshot from cover then 'LulztTehn00b' will run through the pack with a shotgun screaming "Die Motherchuffer" as a workable tactic.

It's getting hooks in though - bounties work well as a mechanic. And "oh just one more" feeling is there. I think it's a game I could happily spend an hour or two a night on - but it's not something I can (for now) play for say 3-4 hours (or longer) without a break.

Atm I've got to farm 25 of a mat for a sword (not the Dreadnaught one, the next one), fight Taken Commanders on Venus (which is a pain to get to spawn) and some other more structured quests at 239 light.

Also I've got to practice double jumping. I'll find a power ballad and imagine myself in a montage I think.

Got to love it when a Three of Coins actually works at just the right time for that maximum Christmas morning feel - first boss in the Raid went down last night and dropped Zhalo Supercell (which I didn't already have) and the Raid sniper (though that was slightly disappointingly "only" 300). I can now hit 295 when using my highest light combo. Unfortunately for me my highest light combo also includes probably my least favourite weapon (certainly for PvE - my 296 The Last Word), so it's mainly just for opening engrams rather than actual day-to-day use.

If I get a decent (or possibly Raid) Ghost drop I'll be flying now - the only stuff I have left that's not (purple/Exotic and) 290+ is the 288 Light Beyond Nemesis (that so far I've only used for the last part of the Voidwalker quest) and my 280 Vanguard Ghost. Annoyingly, all my good 290+ blues this weekend were for areas that I've already got to around 295. Where at the weird stage now where I'd love a bunch of blue 290+ Ghosts, primaries, chests and helmets (to level all my Legendary/Exotic pieces to roughly the same spot. just so I don't have to consider their light when I switch loadout) more than I want Legendary drops...

I do need to buy some Exotic shards now though, as it turns out every time you infuse an Exotic you spend one. This is a problem for me now thanks to some entertainingly stupid drunk logic I used on Friday, whereupon I decided to rebuy a bunch of Exotic stuff from the kiosk. as that had higher Intellect/Discipline/Strength than what I already had, then infuse the old stuff into it.

Of course, as I realise now, there are several problems with this; first was that meant my light levels dropped on pretty much everything (and therefore slightly overall). Also, what drunk JDub didn't realise is that the kiosk ones looked like they had better stats because the higher values are only based on if you pick the 'Increase' perk for that stat, and you can only pick one of them at a time, so my "plan" to boost my cooldowns actually gained me nothing at all, but lost me a couple of light levels and a buttload of Exotic shards and Glimmer.

Drunk JDub is no longer allowed to make big decisions regarding my loadout in Destiny, as it took a few hours to undo the damage to my light level, and will take several more hours of lucky drops, Glimmer/material farming and spent Strange Coins to fix/restore everything else. Also, I'm a twat.

Any of you fine people still looking to go into King's Fall blind? My two buddies and I have totally avoided any raid spoilers and are looking for three others to have a go at figuring it all out this weekend. If you reckon you'll be ready (285+ light, I guess), then let me know ????

Are there any raid groups for this week (or at least until the reset tomorrow) that are at the first boss and need another member? After my highly inconveniently timed foreign sojourn it's like school all over again and I'm the last kid to be picked for the team :(

Tell me about it, used about 11 last night. Got Immolation Fists from very first one, then nothing for rest of evening. Last strike, last run, got Jade Rabbit.

Damn, just need an exotic secondary and I will be all set, I think. In the meantime, time to annoy crucible teammates by running around with a sword hilt.

We're not the quickest or the best mind. We'd probably all get locked in on crystal maze

I wouldn't worry. The thing with King's Fall is that it's much more about figuring out the puzzle than it is having the right gear. So if you're going in blind, just spend the first few efforts not even trying to beat the encounter, but just seeing what all the things do.

Someone in my fireteam got the Jade Rabbit last night. What's with it only having 7 bullets per clip?

4 body shots and one head shot is the rhythm. You don't actually ever have to reload it unless you mess that rhythm up or, god forbid, miss a shot.

If you keep chaining body shots and then a precision shot, you'll never have to reload, and you'll technically have infinite ammo.

I still put field scout on to give it 11 anyway.

I got a very good crucible scout rifle last night, Last Extremity. It's the same impact rating as the Jade Rabbit, but with less range. However, mine has triple-tap, and Hand Laid Stock.

It's arguable which is the better Scout Rifle of the two.

Ah I see. I'm in love with the Dead Orbit scout rifle and I really want the Jade Rabbit but I've only had two exotic primary engrams so far and predictably they were both year 2 weapons (TLW and Hawkmoon). Xur won't be selling it for a year at least since it's a PS exclusive item so I'll have to solely rely on the dodgy RNG which seems to just love giving me endless chest engrams that decrypt into Alpha Lupi every time.

I bought the Red Death blueprint and fully upgraded it so I'm in love with that now.

Jade rabbit drops from engrams, only a matter of time before you get it.

I took it to PvP but didn't really like it. PvE weapon only, really. Managed to get second highest damage on (raid spoiler boss) one game, with just a primary. No reload necessary.

I'm just too busy trying different weapons, though, so not touched it for over a week.
