Can only say from watching parts of it, but the raid looks on a pair with VoG quality, and seems absolutely massive. Teamwork is key, and by looks of it when you get to sufficient light level (as in don't need raid gear, but high enough) the coordination is what makes it difficult. Rather than Crota hard mode artificial difficulty.

Of course, need to ask others how they felt about playing it. Sometimes raids can get frustrating when you have spent hours and things are not going your way. At least there are checkpoints (fuck you Skolas).

One. Each time you defeat an Ultra you should use another. If you get an Exotic when the next Ultra goes down the effect will reset, if you don't the effect stacks.

But I've had the effect disappear when the Ultra when down and no Exotic dropped?

Aye, after initially disliking it, it's proved to be rather pwerful. However, I found for that last bit on the raid it wasn't so good, as you hinted at, you need mid to close range weapons, so autos and hand cannons are better for that, also pulse rifles. But I tell you what, this sniper rifle below is amazing:

The worst bit is definitely not Dinklage's Wizard from the Moon. It's that pair of cutscenes in the Reef. Or not having time to explain.

The competition for the worst bit of Destiny is pretty much wide open, let's be honest.

Yes pls, I'm deffo nearing the 280 mark!

FYI you can do the nightfall 260+ imo. There is no burn and wiping just means restarting from last checkpoint. Juggler is the only slight issue. It's a great strike and no cheesing needed.

I'd nominate Xur as the worst bit of Destiny. He fucks up the whole economy (13 coins for an exotic when they give them out like sweets now?)and feed the whole Ghorn spam with cheap heavy ammo packs. That or the fact it tells you 2 friends are here in the director screen but not which two! Cheesy cutscenes are easy to ignore in comparison.

been loving this little scout. though clearly trumpeted by gorf's exotic scout. remind what the name is and how to get it please? cant remember anything we said after 1.30

It's a quest reward. Just follow the quest line called

Wolves of Mars, or something like that - the Petra Venj/Variks quests to kill off the remaining House of Wolves packs, and that's that.

I'm reluctant to go into the spoiler thread, and I'm a way off being able to do the raid, so could someone post some spoiler-free impressions? Like, if the best bit of Destiny is the Vault of Glass, and the worst bit is Peter Dinklage saying "that wizard came from the moon", where does the King's Fall lie?

I only got a very short way into it so it's far too early to judge, but the opening bits are definitely more VoG in quality than, say, PoE. Dunno yet in comparison to Crota because I'm not far enough in to tell and (mechanically) the bridge section was the best bit of Crota, so that raid's early stuff was its best. But I can say that so far it's all about working out puzzles, and teamwork, and the fact that most of our team were slightly under-levelled really wasn't an issue (or shouldn't have been if we'd got the teamwork right). So it looks good so far.

Yeah, but then you pop another Coin of Three and the effect is stacked for when you next defeat an Ultra. Then it stacks again if you still get nothing next time and pop another Coin, and so on. If and when one drops the effect is reset for the next time.

Basically - always pop a coin after beating an Ultra, and if nothing dropped for you the most recent time your odds are better next time.

I've bought about 40 odd in total (but left enough coins for next weeks Exotic, seeing as there's no guaranteed way of getting Strange Coins at present), and have largely resisted the temptation to spam, but it's still been pretty kind. Besides the odd dupe and armour for the other classes I've had a Last Word (which I hope gets significantly better after upgrades/use, as I'm a bit meh about it so far) and a Monte Carlo, which I actually really like.

Anyone else's Sparrow mission bugged? I've hit Overcharge 3 on two different occasions and it still won't register.

Yeah, I have to do a special version of the Rasputin strike now, though It has matchmaking.

You actually need to hit overcharge 4.

I think I had 5 when it completed.

We did the Nightfall earlier, man this game is so good when its on form and its currently knocking it out of the park with great story missions and some of (if not the) best strikes in the game. I haven't even started levelling the other two characters yet as there is so much to do and clearly Warlocks are the best ;)

Rift, ohhh my god I love rift - still haven't picked a crucible gun as yet but this is good as it gives some good variety.

Raid next, hopefully on days off next week and I am pretty bloody excited to play it - going in blind and going to have a ball!

I'm having a lot of fun with the Zhalo Supercell, lovely auto rifle! I've still not done the new strikes yet...so if anyone is around tomorrow during the day and fancies a session on the strikes and the nightfall then let me know :)
